I had an overnight stay in this hotel and was very impressed. The lady who checked me in noticed that I was using crutches (a short term knee injury) and put me in a room right by reception on the ground floor. She and the other staff member were extremely helpful providing an iron and board and also with directions to the wedding I was attending. The room was very clean and well -appointed with a lovely view over the lake towards the mountains. Although the hotel is at a junction on the M1/M74 it is protected by being down the hill and sheltered by trees so there is minimal noise. I would certainly return with my family if I was in this area again.

Large room with balcony overlooking lake and countryside. Very comfortable bed. Bathroom could have been cleaner - hair in the bath plughole! Biggest let down, poor choice and quality of food at adjoining service area. Breakfast very expensive - £5.95 for 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 hash brown, 1 mushroom and a few congealed baked beans - all luke warm. Great for a one-night stopover but would eat elsewhere - not what you want after a long journey to have to start trying to find somewhere else for dinner or breakast. Other service areas manage to serve much better food at reasonable prices - Beaconsfield on M40 for example is excellent.

My husband and I together with my daughter and boyfriend stayed here again on a trip to Scotland. As last time, the room was spotless and the staff extremely helpful. Our view from the balcony at the back was to die for. Could have stayed much longer. We took our dog with us this time and it was lovely getting up early and walking him round the lake where there were swans geese ducks and moorhens in abundance. Absolute bliss !!!

We enjoyed staying at Annandale water because for the location, the view across the lake and the 24 hour services meaning we could get refreshments however late we arrived. The room was surprisingly big and clean and warm once we had switched the heating on. The room connected with our son's which was fun and we both had lovely little balconies overlooking the lake.

The only thing I would say is that the hotel has no restaurant or bar (you eat at the services) and so the long yearned for glass of wine at the end of a long days drive from Penzance didn't materialise!
Next time we will remember to take our own and everything will be perfect!
