Last minute booking, good location for New Forest exploration. Friendly welcome and reception staff, well decorated for Christmas. Room small, TV tiny ! Bathroom looked new, unfortunately the bath water was rusty in colour !! The bedroom itself was a bit worn, chipped paint, dirty carpet etc. curtain tie backs bracket fellout of wall ! Breakfast OK although a bit 'canteen' like.

Warm Welcome when we arrived by the reception staff, hotel was well decorated for Christmas with the log fire burning in the bar.....

We stayed for two nights over the new year and found the food of a good standard...my daughter says "yummy"..!

We found all the staff very helpful and willing to help....

The room did need a little attention to detail......maybe a new TV and a replacement sofa bed.

Stayed recently on business. Was immediately impressed by the receptionists welcome. The service received throughout my stay was excellent. Food in the restaurant was superb, and the whole hotel had a wonderful homely feel to it. Would definetly stay again and recommend to others.

Stayed for one night at this pretty hotel in the New Forest in September 2011. The room was comfy and the bed was large, the bathroom was a good size. It was abit of a wander through corridors and up and down stairs to get to the room, but that wasnt an issue. The grounds are really beautiful and I had a lovely relaxing walk with my boyfriend in the evening before dinner.
The pool was nice, it was a little bit cold though! And really they should leave the sauna on all the time (rather than calling up reception to have it switched on), and instal a steam room.
The dinner was really really good. A tiny gripe from my other half was "I am paying £90 for this meal, i dont wanna hear someone else's wedding while i am eating it!" which I agreed with but the quality of the food made up for it.
Breakfast was good, although we got coffee rather than tea, and the serving staff seemed a little confused that we also needed a fresh cup to pour the tea into (rather than the one we had mistakenly filled with coffee!!)

All in all i really liked this hotel and wished i'd booked longer.
