“Could do better”

A beautiful location and the main public areas of the hotel are comfortable but the chalet we had at the rear of the hotel was not as clean as they should be and the shower area needed a good dose of bleach and perhaps regrouting. Also no bottled water in the room despite a notice warning that the tap water was undrinkable which caused a bit of a problem at 0230hrs!! The staff were all very friendly with happy smiles!!

“Recent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We booked the room for a short break in the Wye valley,
Staff excellent, food superb (make sure your hungry when asking for full English) eve meals very good, Room more than adequate, slight disturbance from music down stairs seemed to echo through our room (1) early morning.
Location was ideal for us, price good.

Pleasant stay will recommend and stay again

“weekend away for 60th birthday party”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Lovely location easy to find , we had a chalet room number 15 , which was ok , could do with lick of paint and up date on the carpet's . Me beign picky here would of been nice if they had a mattress protector on the bed rather than just thin cotton sheet . The toilet flush need's be sorted , due to not flushing also the cistem was running 24/7 . Pity the water bill . Good point's food was excellent the staff was all very pleasent , speacil the young waitress who always ahd smile was very polite . I would recommended this to other's.We had great 60th birthday party for my sister in law .Jazz band was'nt all that good but hey least we had music . x

Room Tip: maybe have on in the main building rather than the chalet one's over the carpark .

“Lovely setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Great to see an old country pub still going strong, the inn on the wye has a lovely olde world feel to the restaurant and bar which makes it lovely for a meal for 2 or some drinks,. the seats were comfortable and it had outdoor seating for sunny days - unfortunately for us there were quite a few wasps around ( a glass or 2 of coke around the corner would sort that out) parking was easy and the view from the hotel are amazing.

Room Tip: ask for a view over the village hall and youll get a view right down the valley

“Nice staff, great breakfast, "tired" and basic room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

This hotel looks over the river wye, and has a great view. The bar area and dining room were nice, especially the conservatory. Breakfast was good, and the only reason I give this a 3 is that the room was poor. It was in need of a redecoration, some attention and a new mattress.
Both sheets and duvet were poor.
