Stayed on the great value Gold Voucher program. Room was in the old part, clean, quiet and comfortable. Very good evening meal and breakfast, large portions with very friendly service from all the staff. Would definately return.

The George Hotel is part of the Peel Group. It is an old coaching inn with real character in the bar and restaurant areas. The bedroom was in the new building to the rear. It was both comfortable and quiet. Free Wifi is available throughout the hotel. Unlike another of the Peel Group [Bournemouth] car parking was free. But the major plus was the professionalism yet friendliness of the staff. It was like a real home from home with staff doing a great job with humour and without the sense of being rushed all the time - even though the restaurant was busy. Richard [Beverages Manager] and Sarah [another manager] had obviously trained their staff exceptionally well - Lauren and Ashdon were excellent. And the food was also excellent - obviously a very good chef. This is the third Peel Group hotel that we have stayed in - and this is one to which we will return!

The hotel has an old and a new building. Private parking is present. Nice english breakfast, pub and patio. Rooms are clean. The old building is probably less comfy but charming. Mattress to soft. An internet point is available. Prices in the avarage. Staff friendly and professional

A great hotel: all the staff were excellent - friendly, pleasant, helpful and polite - so we can't really single out any for special praise The food was good, the service in the restaurant was superb and our room was impeccably clean with lovely white bedlinen and towels. We shall definitely stay here again.
