“Simply The Best”

This location will suit you whether you are a pauper or a king. Wallingford is a lovely quaint town with a friendly atmosphere. The accommodation is first class, spacious, spotlessly clean and Ronnie (Veronica) is an ideal hostess and the breakfasts are to die for. Nothing is to much trouble and local knowledge and assistance of all types is always available from Bruce. He tirelessly carries cases and provides information as to places to visit. We visited Misomer Murders Locations, Agatha Christies home, Henley on Thames and a lovely town called Marlow. It is handy for visiting all areas around Oxford. The clientle at the Public house are very welcoming and bar snacks are always available, together with an excellent selection of local and international beers. I couldnt recommend this location too highly. We will be returning without a doubt. You will not be dissapointed, its fantastic.

“Lovely friendly place to stay”

We found the owners and the locals in this lovely little pub/hotel to be so friendly and welcoming from the moment we stepped in the front door. The room was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We came with a newborn which could have been difficult but our stay was made much easier with the help of the owners. Will definitely come again!

We would highly recommend this B&B. Roni the Land Lady is so helpful and friendly. We were made to feel at home the moment we walked in. All roms are en-suite. The room we stayed in was immaculate as was the bar.
The Breakfast sets you for the day not only was it very tasty but Roni added beans for my step son as he doesn't like Bacon nothing is too much to ask.
The regulars in the bar also included us in their conversations making it a very friendly atmosphere.

“Fabulous”

I stayed in this pub during a flat hunting visit to Oxfordshire with my daughter and her partners mother. This little pub is fantastic, the landlady makes you feel very welcome. We stayed in the room for three and it was spacious, bright and very clean. The pub is full of localls who also made us feel very welcome and chatted to us. The breakfast was excellent. We are planning on staying here every time we come down to visit our daughter and look forward to our next stay. No parking but a very short walk to the nearest car parks where disabled badge holders park for free.

“Everything you could ask for in a B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

Wallingford was one of our planned stopovers in our Three Men in a Boat Charity Row. I used our standard planning reference "Pubs of the River Thames" to find a B&B and came up with The Coachmakers Arms.

Well, how glad I was that I did; from the moment I stepped over the threshold I was made to feel as welcome and comfortable as I could wish.

The room was comfortable with a small but acceptable ensuite. When my hardier companions who were camping joined me they too were welcomed like old friends and soon a session developed over the well-kept and excellent Brakspears beers.

The Coachmakers is run by Roni, as charming and hospitable a host as you could meet; when she discovered that we were rowing for chariity she insisted on pledging the fee for our breakfasts to our fund.

So to sum up - fine ensuite accomodation, good location and sleep quality, great breakfasts and a wonderful service culture and good value. (Much better than we were to discover further down river)
