“A Bad Place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Booked for 3 nights. First 2 ok, but on 3rd, arrived back at 10.10pm to find no food available due to kitchen being closed for a private function, and tv in my room having been inexplicably changed during the day for one that didn't work. Needless to say, no-one was around to deal with these issues.I was prepared to ignore the bad reviews I had read before this, but really - they shouldn't be in business if they care about their guests so minimally. My advice is STAY AWAY!

“The worst hotel I've ever stayed at!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

After climbing up a long flight of slippery steps, I arrived in a drab reception area. I was given the key to my room.
Walking down the corridors I noticed that the decor was very shabby, not just nedding a coat of paint but also replastering in many places.
The first thing i noticed on entering the room was that the ceiling light did not work, of the two bedside lamps one worked, the other did not even have a bulb in it.
I then tried the TV to find 5 channels, Sky News, ITV1, BBC1 poor picture , BBC1 better picture and BBC2 very fuzzy.
Not satisfied I returned to reception and was moved to the "Bridal Suite".
I can't believe anyone would want to spend their honeymoon here, but if they did they would find a four poster bed in an average room. To be fair the room was well heated and the bed comfortable. But again only one of the two bedside lamps worked (but at least they both had bulbs in this time) and the TV still had the same 5 channels.
I only went for breakfast on the first morning, the choice was toast or three types of cereal, apple juice, orange juice, tea or coffee. The toast was OK but the coffee was disgusting.
This hotel certainly does not live up to it's description on the website and does not deserve it's 3 star rating.
It may be cheap, but that is no excuse for failing to provide basic hotel facilities.

“Cheap and clean but the website is misleading.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

This hotel is clearly good value but the website raises expectations unnecessarily. We booked through late rooms and sometimes you can get a good deal. Having looked at the website we thought we were coming somewhere less basic. Should have checked out this website!!!! It's not really child friendly, no high chairs at breakfast. Tried to use the pool, £5 charge but cards not accepted under £10 no cash point so that was out. Breakfast was very very basic just bread and cornflakes and a flask of tea. But strangely the buffet was staffed, we were the only guests in the room, who dished out meagre portions and made the experience a little uncomfortable. Staff friendly but this hotel really should advertise itself as budget.
