This should be a glowing review, the hotel is lovely and the food delicious. However despite several emails and a telephone call, they did not take coeliac disease seriously; on departure they seemed to consider it something of a "fad".
The food was delicious and we booked Kinnaird on the basis that we have never before gone wrong with good quality estalishments which put emphasis on service - they understand - Kinnaird unfortunately does not. It is most likely that the chef was let down by other staff, and if so that is a great pity. They had not one but two slip ups. A special occasion was spent in the toilet, it took a week to properly recover. The estate puts such a emphasis in its marketing on service, but our experience, when it really really mattered, shows this to be of no substance, nothing but pretence.
We did not mind the fact that the wine tasting had to be cancelled, the massage we ordered forgotten about, not even that we had no hot water for over 2 hours between 5 and 7pm on Saturday night. Not to take coeliac disease seriously however does matter and therefore this hotel, sadly, cannot be recommended.
