“Good location, friendly staff but rooms tired and needing repairs”

We stayed for 5 nights this time, having stayed there 6 years ago.
Still same friendly staff and good location but disappointed at the decline in the fabric of rooms since our last visit.
Whenever you used the sink or shower water flooded up through drain in middle of bathroom. Shower cubicle was the smallest I have ever seen and one side panel was missing, ensuring even more water ended up on the floor. Drawers broken and missing in dresser and bedside table. Plus point was the small fridge with its ice box which was great for drinks/ picnic food.
Breakfasts as good as we remembered with fresh rolls , cheese, ham and homemade jams.
I think they just need to spend some money refurbishing their rooms.

Dear MMACInverness,
Many thanks for your review.
There were indeed few issues which we had to pay attention to.
We have already changed the drain system in middle of bathroom and also removed the side panels and replaced them to shower curtain.
It is in our winter maintenance programm to repair the drawers and buy new mattress.
We strive to work hard to keep good service. Hope to see you again.

We came back to this hotel for a 2.week stay. We are made very welcome .The family are really nice and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable.Angelo who manages the bar is a great bloke who loves to have a laugh and a joke with every body. There is loads of places to eat and it is only a 15 min walk into town. The beach we go to is just a ten minute walk and is lovely.WE Have been coming back for a number of years and we will be back next year it is a very relaxing holliday we never want to go home .

“Back YET AGAIN for more total relaxation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

How do they do it?!

Now back in a chilly UK [alas!] after yet another totally relaxing stay at the faultless Koala, for the last week in August and the first in September.
You'll see from my previous review that it's just not possible to arrive - let alone leave - without feeling "chilled out".
The tone of "nothing is too much trouble" pervades the place, and what a welcome back!

I've always loved everything about the Koala [since 1996] but just when you're sure nothing can improve, along comes an extended breakfast buffet : sesame bread, rolls, jams, cake, cooked meats, cheese, yoghurt, honey, cereal selection, fruit salad, juices.
What a fantastic start to the day either in the sunshine on the terrace, or in the Breakfast Room.

So good to see so many "Returners" this year especially......

Book the Koala once, and you'll soon become a regular - [try a flythomascook.com flight-only - or are Ryanair going to be operating next year? - let's hope so].

“Bring Ice-cream!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

Koala hotel is on of the reasons why I can truly say that KOS 2010 is the best holiday I´ve ever had!! It is a family owned hotel and they are very helpful people. Great atmosphere, great aircondition and they take cleaning seriously!!

If you wanna make friends with the boss, just bring him ice-cream :)

“A very decent hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2010

I stayed for 4 nights here; the room matched what I expected for the price, and good aircon. Breakfast was averagely good. The family were helpful, and if I had a problem, it was sorted out in a friendly and courteous manner. I would go back again!
