The hotel is at the end of the main road in the port town of Kamares. It was a bit of a walk once off the boat and pulling a heavy big bag. Up the stairs into our top level room. Our view was of the street below and some water above the roof tops. One room over and we would have seen the beautiful sun set every night, but we could not see it from our room. There really was no view of the water as was told to us when we booked it by the travel agent in Milos. We expected the water in front of us not in the distance. At first we thought it would be too noisey with the traffic on the road, but there is only a lot of traffic when the boats come in. It wasn't quiet but the cars or motorbke sounds were not noticable to us during the night or in the morning. The owner met us when we arrived and she was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean and neat. A fitted sheet covered the mattress and the top sheet was folded on top of the bed. We would make up the bed at night with the sheet and every morning they would clean the room and they would take it off and refold it on top of the bed. No bed cover. Extra blankets in the closet but not blankets we were used to, looked almost homemade. They have a kitchen on the web site which was big and another one smaller which was more like ours. The shower was a typical Greek island shower. A curtain that wrapped around which I needed to put the plastic stool by the sick to wrap the curtain around to give me more room and put my toiletries on because there was no place to put anything other then soap. Bring your own body wash, they do give you small bottles of shampoo and rinse. The bathroom was small and really no place to dry off and dress. I would open the door and I had my toiletries on the kitchen counter so I could put my lotion on and such. So not much privacy in that case. The sink had a peatrap leak, which left a foul odor when we used it, so we just used the kitchen sink for washing our hands and brushing teeth. We should have told the owner but just never bothered. The room had small desk and two wooden chairs. We used one to put our bag on against the wall. They had a mosquito repellent thing you plug in the light socket that heated up and it lets out a smell they don't like. We just kept the doors closed and had the air conditioner on, which worked well and was pretty quiet. It had a climate control which was nice while we slept, it never got to hot or cold. It had a remote control too. Our rooms cost 58 euro due to the booking fee from ther travel agent, our last night we got the room for 45 euro because we booked it on our own. Parking was across the street and limited or in the dirt lot next door. We enjoyed walking to town where we had great Italian dinners!!!!! The best food we had on any of the islands was there in that town at the two Italian restaurants, Elies Ristorante Italiano Pizzeria was the best pasta and sauce I have ever had and the restaurant next door was the best pasta my husband said he ever had!!! At Elies the waitress was so warm and friendly, she made us feel welcome and comfortable. I would have rather have stayed in other parts of the island, especially we would have liked to stay in Platis Gialos. We liked the beach there and the town had restaurants. The beach there had free chairs and umbrella's while we were there, though the chairs were very uncomfortable, I just blew up my raft and put it on top and had comfort. The stores in Kamares were cheaper for things like umbrella, rafts, lotion ect. Everyone we were in contact with were very helpful and friendly.
