We have stayed at the Sunrise several times and always found it to be a great place to stay, the owners are extremely helpful and friendly without being intrusive. We have stayed in many location on several Greek islands and I can assure anyone reading this, the accommodation is typical, the staff are exceptional and the location is perfect for all local restaurants, bars etc yet has a private quiet feel. Great for families and while the pool is not huge, no pool in this type of accommodation is indeed many of the local hotels do not even have a pool. The beach is 30 yards away and the sea 3, yes 3 yards away from the entrance.............what more do you want. You can drink beer and fish without moving from the same spot. Maybe the 'sunsez' expectations are unrealistic for this part of the world, I have stayed at the Akti Alous and the Alikes next door to the Sunrise both lovely places to stay but no better, all have good views and similar pools (one on the roof top) the Sunrise is self catering if you prefer where the other two are hotels, being the last property befoe you get to the sea you get good views from more of the rooms, all accommodation has rooms which over look other hotels or apartments, this one has more opportunity and you CAN request sea views as with most travel agents.. We book direct and have requested specific rooms at NO EXTRA charge.
Note, the water is heated by the sun using solar panels as is normal for this part of the world, if you get to the water AFTER everyone else yes you can miss out on hot, hot water but i's never cold. As for toilet rolls, the clue is in the description "self catering apartments".
Please read the positive reports as well as the sunsez one.
Thanks for reading this.
ps............we have booked to go in March out of season and the owners are opening accommodation for us, not many would do this and NO its not about making money, its about valuing your customers for the future and earning a living both of which I can respect.
