“Great place, great location and great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I shared a room with my brother and his wife, the room was huge very comfortable and adequately furnished. Only complaint was the shower it was a bit small. Anatasia was a lovely person as was her mother they were helpful and friendly at all times. Breakfast was superb. The location was fantastic only minutes from some beautiful little laneways, restaurants and shops. Crete harbour was literally just around the corner.
Congratulations to you all at the Palazzo and hope you get another Excellence award for the hotel this year, you deserve it well done. Hope one day to return will definately book with you again.

“Superb location, great value for money, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Four of us chose this hotel on the basis of its superb location in the old town and being a period converted house. The staff, starting with the wonderful Anastasia, were friendly and helpful, sorting out taxis, laundry, restaurant recommendations etc. The rooms are of a reasonable size, charming and with comfortable beds. The outside street can get a bit noisy but no problem if you shut the windows and turn on the effective aircon. The showers worked well and the only criticism of the bathroom was that it was slightly airless. If we had to make one recommendation for improvement, it would be to serve fresh orange juice at breakfast.

“Quaint hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

Palazzo met our expectations. The rooms are small, but very clean. The shower I barely fit in. Those are the only minuses but this is a value hotel with a great location, sorta of like being in the Plaka in Athens with everything within a 10 minute walk. The hotel is an old renovated home or mansion in those days along a beautiful narrow street. There is no piano bar as one reviewer claimed as being noisy. Anatasia and the other hosts were wonderful and spoke very good English. Breakfast was healthy and filling. My guess is there are about 15 rooms total so this will not have noisy corridors that a larger facility would have. Very charming.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

We stayed here after looking on the website. We were given ground floor rooms that were very grim. No one told us that the windows had to be locked to operate the air conditioning with the result that we spent our first night tossing and turning in the August heat with noise from a piano bar going until 3am. No one on the the desk in the evening, so no one to help. Breakfast very nasty. Instead of fresh juice there was a powdered acidic drink and a hard roll. The girl on the desk was very unhelpful, though the older lady (owner?) was very nice. Unfortunately we only saw her our last morning. The rooms were nothing like those shown on the website with noisy, dilapidated refrigerators plonked in the middle of the room displacing the other furniture. My mother's room was tiny and very noisy. Ground floor rooms to be avoided at all costs! Compared to the other hotels we have stayed in in Greece, at similar prices, this was very unappealing. The exterior of the hotel is lovely and the location is perfect. It's just too bad the rooms and breakfast were such a let down!

Room Tip: Make sure you get an upstairs room!

“A cute, friendly, clean hotel. Highly recommended.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. Our room overlooked the nicest part of Chania, a narrow street just back from the northwest corner of the harbor.

The breakfast was the best we had at a hotel while in Greece, and the staff was very friendly.

As stated to rooms overlook one of the narrow, primarily pedestrian streets of Chania. However, there is some scooter traffic, and a significant amount of activity in the evenings, so there is a bit of noise. But the rooms have air conditioning, which when turned on at night with the windows closed, allows for a very restful slumber.

Highly recommended!
