“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

We stayed here after looking on the website. We were given ground floor rooms that were very grim. No one told us that the windows had to be locked to operate the air conditioning with the result that we spent our first night tossing and turning in the August heat with noise from a piano bar going until 3am. No one on the the desk in the evening, so no one to help. Breakfast very nasty. Instead of fresh juice there was a powdered acidic drink and a hard roll. The girl on the desk was very unhelpful, though the older lady (owner?) was very nice. Unfortunately we only saw her our last morning. The rooms were nothing like those shown on the website with noisy, dilapidated refrigerators plonked in the middle of the room displacing the other furniture. My mother's room was tiny and very noisy. Ground floor rooms to be avoided at all costs! Compared to the other hotels we have stayed in in Greece, at similar prices, this was very unappealing. The exterior of the hotel is lovely and the location is perfect. It's just too bad the rooms and breakfast were such a let down!

Room Tip: Make sure you get an upstairs room!

“A cute, friendly, clean hotel. Highly recommended.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. Our room overlooked the nicest part of Chania, a narrow street just back from the northwest corner of the harbor.

The breakfast was the best we had at a hotel while in Greece, and the staff was very friendly.

As stated to rooms overlook one of the narrow, primarily pedestrian streets of Chania. However, there is some scooter traffic, and a significant amount of activity in the evenings, so there is a bit of noise. But the rooms have air conditioning, which when turned on at night with the windows closed, allows for a very restful slumber.

Highly recommended!

“Perfect people & service at the perfect location!”

If you're looking for posh and plush, you won't find it here (and why would you want that anyway? You're on vacation - you don't need to be in your room except to sleep)!
But what you will find, are wonderful people, who bent over backwards to help us with whatever we needed. The rooms were astonishingly clean and our balcony overlooked Theotokopoulou Street! The rooftop lounging area provided spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains to the south and breathtaking views of the ocean to the north. For us, and for the $$, this hotel can NOT be beat.

“Very good!”

The location of the hotel is perfect. Very near to the old Venetian part of Chania and a few minutes walk away from the center of the town. The rooms were simple and very clean with lovely view to the Aegean sea.The breakfast was good .The staff was very friendly and helpful!

“Romantic and quaint”

It was located in a pedestrian walking area of Old Town in Chania. It was $75-$80 a night which was reasonable for the location. You parked your car a couple of blocks away at a public park (Free). You could walk the whole Old Town area and not need a car for anything. The hotel provided a deluxe continental breakfast and there were many restaurants outside the door for meals at reasonable prices. The room was nice large area and a sizable bathroom. Free WI-Fi in lobby. Ask for a room with a balcony as they seem to be larger and the balcony in the evening is to die for. Note: The 3 storied hotel has NO elevator and one must take their own luggage to the room, but the staff is very helpful and friendly. You will be given a key to the hotel as the staff leaves at 11 pm each night and if you are late returning, you must let yourself into the hotel. The old town area of Chania reminds one of Venice Italy as it was inhabited by the Venetians for a quiet awhile. The old town, surrounded by Harbor front, has many markets, restaurants and churches all within walking distance.
