We stayed in a room on the ground floor which had a number of issues. First of all the room suffers from a style / identity crisis. Gothic influences combined with a jacuzzi tub in the main room, hanging tables and a canopy bed with a tired mattress don't mix very well. The bathroom is extremely small, requiring elaborate gymnastics to use the toilet given that it is squeezed next to the sink and the shower. The toilet bin was old and broken requiring handling by hand. The jacuzzi tub in practice would be a pain to use because it would create splashing which would wet the carpeting and bedding in the room.

The main door of the apartment could not be locked form the inside requiring that we put a chair against the door on the inside just like in the movies.

There was a lot of noise from the outside, including annoying tourists that confused our room with theirs and they were trying to get in multiple times. The room did not have any view.

Lastly the owner/manager just cared to collect the payment in cash (without giving a receipt of course) and we never saw him again.

On the positive side, the room came with a complimentary bottle of wine and raki which we did not take advantage of. The location is excellent, very close to the port of the old town.

Bottom line - try to find a better place in the old town which will over better value and fewer issues.

our suite had a nice canopy bed and a whirlpool. BUT BEWARE: the place is located above a bar, which was playing very lound music way after midnight. when i finally went downstairs around 2 in the morning, the bar was empty, only the staff were there and they were kind enough to turn down the volume. the next morning i mentioned this to the owner who called me a liar and said there was no noise. STAY AWAY.

I travel 4 two weeks the crete, my last 3days I spend to this place. I had 1traditional studio as they 'called' was on the 2floor like you go into lighthouse 1of the personel hepled me. 55€ bb was perfect . The location around whith tavernas shops and the beach only 200m for me i was singel just fine. I would recommended this studio i could not say for the sea view as my room was in a narrow st.30m fron the harbor. Just remember to this hotel belongs 6 houses.

i stayed in ifigenia with my gilrfriend ,i stayed in 3 different rooms because ifigenia has a lot of kinds,all of the rooms are very charming the location was perfect you are in the hart of the old city and i think this neiborhoud is the most nice in the old city,first nice we stayed in the suite ...it was very romantic and very nice decoration and the price was good compare with the quality and the location,after we stayed in a room with sea view because suite was booked and the view is amazing ...you have all the harbour in your feet,unbelieveble view...and the last night we stayed in a traditional studios also very charming and different i can tell,we was very happy and i reccomend this hotel and of course i reccomend and the old city of chania !!! both was fantastic....
