Calergi is run by Silke, a german woman who lives on Crete and is very enthousiastic about the authentic Greek lifestyle. She is full of good non-toursity suggestions and tips on where te eat, what to see and do, etc. Like a very good taverna 2 villages ahead where you're greated as an old friend when you mention her name, or a scenic drive trough the mountains.
The (about 10) apartments are very well equipped, beds are very comfi, and the whole place has a nice, calm and small-scale atmosphere. The pool is nice and fresh on hot days. Locationwise; you do need a car, Rhetimon is reached in a couple of minutes driving and offers many places for shopping and restaurants.
