“Beautiful Stylish and Elegant Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I can whole-heartedly recommend this fantastic boutique hotel in an excellent location in Athens. The staff are lovely, the breakfast fantastic - the best poached eggs on toast ever! No expense has been spared in creating a really stylish and elegant hotel with beautiful lighting, furnishings and artwork. The hotel is within walking distance of many traditional Greek bars and restaurants as well as the Acropolis and museums. There is also an antique flea market in the surrounding streets which adds to the charm of the location.

All in all an excellent hotel.

“Wow”

My husband and I arrived in Athens on one its hottest days and then dragged our luggage from the train station to the O & B Athens Boutique Hotel. We had trouble locating the street of our hotel and eventually had to stop one the locals for directions. Unfortunately neither she, nor the waiter at a nearby restaurant knew where it was. Luckily the woman noticed the narrow street as she continued down the street, and raced back up the hill to tell us.

As we approached the front door, it flew open and the front desk clerk flew down the ramp, grabbed both of our suitcases and took them in for us. He then asked us to sit down for a few minutes with a glass a cold water to recover while he prepared our paperwork. We were then taken to our room and a couple of minutes later, someone knocked on our front door and we were presented with a glass of ouzo for each of us and a platter of appetisers. What a fabulous welcome! What a fabulous room. Totally inviting, stylish and comfortable - if a bit small. After an amazing dinner via room service we slept the sleep of the exhausted and woke up very refreshed. Breakfast was a tasty buffet, with a variety of hot and cold options. The coffee and tea was served at our table by a very helpful and attentive waiter.

All in all, we had an amazing experience and returned with our adult kids a couple of weeks later for even more special treatment. We felt as though we were visiting family who treated with love and care. Totally loved it.

“Great Experience”

My husband and I traveled to Athens in Oct 2011 for a Windstar cruise. We arrived one day before the cruise was scheduled to depart and we stayed at this hotel.

We took a cab from the airport and while we were approaching the neighborhood of the hotel, I was wondering if it was a safe area (lots of graffiti, XXX store on the corner, a bit run down, etc.), but after walking around the area quite a bit (even at night), I felt very safe. And I also noticed that many of the neighborhoods in Athens looked similar. As far as actual location for tourist activities, it was fabulous! We were very close to the Plaka and were able to walk to the Acropolis.

Since our flight arrived in the morning, we decided to go straight to the hotel, drop off our bags and start touring the city. We arrived at the hotel at 9am, and to our surprise, we were allowed to check in and go to our room! The front desk staff was extremely friendly and more than accommodating. They even suggested we have the complimentary hot breakfast buffet before heading out. (We decided to pass on the breakfast that morning, but had it the next morning and it was delicious.)

The room itself was very clean with modern amenities, including cold a/c and a very hot shower with good water pressure. There was a DVD player in the room and there were 2 complimentary books of pretty current DVDs at the front desk. Another bonus was the variety of tourist books available at the front desk. (Again, complimentary.)

The only thing missing from the room was an iron and the hotel staff said the reason was because it is a fire hazard. Housekeeping was able to iron a blouse for me, again at no charge, and they were really nice about it.

The only downside to the room was that it was a little small. But, if anyone has stayed in a hotel in New York, it was very comparable. And since it was just two of us, it was fine.

The only other issue I can think of that people may complain about is the street noise. But, if you keep your windows closed, it isn't too bad. (And, again, street noise all over Athens is pretty typical.)

All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Athens. Clean, great location and outstanding customer service. And if I go back to Athens, I would definitely stay here again!

“Excellent Hotel with Five Star Customer Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This hotel has customer service to rival any five star hotel. My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in January. When we arrived the owners gave us a very warm welcome, helped us orient ourselves to the city, suggested a short itinerary for our brief visit and suggested areas of the city that were of interest, as well as those to avoid at night etc. After being shown to our room, a plate of "Greek Treats" arrived - olives, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese and a shot of ouzo. The room was great, very modern, clean, nice bathroom, comfortable bed.

The hotel is in a "Shabby Chic" area of town (on Sunday there's a huge antique market going on all around the area), it's close to a host of great restaurants, walking distance to the metro (Blue Line to / from airport) and we easily walked to / from the main tourist sites from the hotel. Breakfast was included with our room and had a good selection of foods to kick start your day (including eggs prepared to your liking).

Overall, a great experience which we would highly recommend and we would return to this hotel on future visits.

“Okay Location , But Good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

With such a high rating on trip advisor , I was surprised that our Taxi guy didn't even know the name of the hotel or its street name and he looked pretty much a veteran driver . Well thats probably the only problem I have with the hotel ... getting back in a taxi after going out or after sight seeing. Well one more problem I have is the size of the room , we had to actually upgrade to a bigger room to feel comfortable. Once all settled in , the bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were big . They run a very efficient ship there and kept our room clean and tidy ( folded our clothes lying about ) and service was ... believe this when I say better than a five star .. and am not loosely using this term .

Nice to haves would be like a electric kettle to make our tea ( nowadays a must ) and a refrigerator ( yes , there wasn't one ! ) .

The breakfast was great , healthy I must add.

I must single out the staff - very helpful and efficient .

After the upgrade the price was almost on par with some bigger hotels so I would visit again only if prices were more competitive for its range , which is , a boutique business hotel . You cannot expect people to return if the prices are on par with a Grand bretagne just down the road .

We were there for Christmas for 4 days , so overall a very pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Go for the high end rooms if you want space . The low end rooms can be claustrophobic if you are eve...
