The Achilleas is centrally located a couple of blocks from Syntagma square. The rooms are very clean and bright, the staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast is excellent. We enjoyed our four QUIET nights immensely.

Basic *** hotel; but great value for such a central location and handy for metro, bus station to airport, sightseeing trips. Staff friendly and helpful (good English too - so no need for tortured Greek). Rooms simple but clean and towels/toiletries good quality. Breakfast help yourself buffet: plentiful - mixed Greek (lovely yoghurts, fruit, jams, rolls, cakes and honey, cheeses, cold meats) with UK (eggs boiled, scrambled,sausages, toast). Internet in lobby, and Wi-fi extends to breakfast room. Small, but classy art-deco lift.

This is not a luxury hotel, or a boutique hotel, this is just a very basic 3* hotel, located in the very center of Athens.
Rooms are small but convenient, everything is clean, and breakfast is nice.
You can walk from there to the main attractions in Athens.
For us it was perfect as we weren't in Athens for the hotel, but mostly for the city !

The hotel wasn't the Ritz but then we hadn't paid Ritz prices. The only real downside was that the beds weren't great but they weren't a complete nightmare - just pretty hard.

We stayed for 5 nights and the 4 of us shared a family room which basically was 2 single beds and 2 trundle beds. The bathroom was tiny but had enough although the shower was an exercise in dexterity as you sit in the half bath and hold the hand held shower over and use the shampoo.

The hotel has no wireless internet in the rooms but the reception and the breakfast room on the mezzanine do have it. We found that spending some time in the evening preping photos etc we could take the laptop to breakfast and then upload some shots, send emails and keep in touch wit people - people were even skyping from the breakfast room.
