Excellent hotel,I got the 7 floor ,great view helpful stuff and very good location

I have stayed at this hotel a few times during the last two years and it has always been fantastic. It is very well located at walking distance from 2 metro stations, very near to the wonderful Akropolis museum, the fantastic area of Plaka and many others. The rooms are very clean, the bathrooms very modern, professional and friendly service, breathtaking views from the roofgarden, good breakfast, comfortable beds, pillows, and good lighting in the rooms! WiFi is relatively cheap (8 € for 200 minutes which you can consume at any intervals within a month) and has good speeds. If you want to have a nice dinner out of the hotel, then go to the nearby tourist area of PLAKA, and try the restaurant VYZANTINO (ΒΥΖΑΝΤΙΝΟ in Greek). In Syntagma (10 minutes walk), you can also enjoy genuine Japanese food at the restaurant FURIN Kazan (Apollonos 2, tel [--]). If you want a room with a big enough desk to work, please call the hotel and explain your requirements, they will try to offer you the best. Do not hesitate to book at this hotel if you visit Athens, for leisure, culture, business, solo or in a romantic or family trip. At the roofgarden where breakfast is served, you will have an unforgettable view of Akrpolis and other historical monuments.

We stayed at the Athens Gate Hotel in January, 2012. The hotel's location is excellent, as the Metro, historic sites and Plaka are all within walking distance. Our stay included the hotel breakfast and each morning the hostess greeted us with a smile and made us feel at home. The view of the Parthenon and Zeus Temple were inviting. Attempting to work on my Biostats homework was literally impossible due to the beautiful scenery in my midst. The hotel's staff worked diligently to ensure our stay was comfortable. The room was very clean and it overlooked the Zeus Temple. Our scheduled flight out of Athens departed extremely early; the hotel assisted with arranging taxi service and they took the time to make us a boxed breakfast to go - we appreciated that very much. If we return to Athens, Athens Gate Hotel will be our #1 choice.

Concerning the location, I guess it is the best hotel in Athens. At walking distance from the metro, the Acropoli, the shopping district of "Plaka", and, a little bit far away (10 min) from Monastiraki square.
The hotel is clean, rooms are adequately equipped, staff is friendly and very efficient.
Unique roof garden with bar service and restaurant, with a stunning view to the acropoli, the temple of Zeus and the hill of Lycabetton. Breakfast (included) is served here every morning. An unforgettable place.
