“Great, cosy friendly hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

I stayed here for a week in July - started with wedding of the daughter of a Greek friend (reception was at the hotel-very well organized with excellent food and ambience in the garden) and I decided to stay on for a week. Clean, airy, compact rooms with balcony, (most) overlooking garden and pool. Super service, friendly and very competent staff, comfortable, casual lounge, good breakfast.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the garden/pool

“Nice family run hotel just an hour from Athens!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2010

First impression of the hotel was a bit disappointing, as the website had such great photos of the place. I didn't expect it to be just off the main road, however, once inside, and the help with received from the staff, took all my disappointment away.

We were 4 girls and were given 2 twin rooms, right next to each other, leading on to a veranda, which lead towards the garden and the pool. Unfortunately the pool was not in use whilst we were there as it was receiving maintenance, plus we were not in the height of season.

Rooms were adequate size, beds were ok, we slept soundily every night, but could have been cause of the ouzo! Bathroom was good size, plenty of towels and it was cleaned every day. Only issue with bathroom was the slight drainage smell in the evenings, but then that is to be expected in most med countries, however, I can imagine it could be worse in the summer. The other issue was the ventilation fan that came on every time you went into the bathroom and put on the lights and it was a bit noisy. TV was small, not flat screen, but had plenty of chanels to view and there was also a small fridge, which was handy for putting in your own groceries.

Walls were a bit thin, we could hear our friends talking next door and you could hear anything that went on in the hallway, but as it was not peak season we were not disturbed that much, I would imagine we could be heard coming in late all the time.

Breakfast was plentiful! Loads to choose from, cereals, fruit, greek yoghurt, pastries, toast, eggs, cheese, hams - nice choice and it was not on a limited time frame either, so ideal really if you didn't want to get up early! It was served in a lovely room over looking the gardens.

We never had dinner in the restaurant, but we saw a few people who did and on the last day, despite them having finished their lunch seating, they made us up a lovely Greek salad mid afternoon for a great price and let us take it to our room to eat. You could always get a drink at the bar though!

Staff were great! Family run hotel and all could speak English very well and were always happy to give directions, help and advice. We hired a car from their front desk and it was there within the hour. Great service and at a resonable price too. I would recomend this if you are staying for more than 4 days as you get to go to see temples within the area. We also went to Lake Vouliagmeni, a thermal lake which was lovely.

Athens was just an hour bus ride away, which cost €2.60. Bus stop was 5min walk from hotel, however, it is on a busy main road. In hindsight I'm glad we were not in the centre of Athens, firstly cause of all the troubles that were going on that week and secondly, cause it is a very busy city and highly polluted.

Our hotel organised a taxi to meet us at the airport and also take us back, which cost us €40 each way.

To sum up, would certainly stay here again, as such a warm welcome and accommodating staff. They even have a pc which you can use free of charge.

excellent
I certainly recommend this hotel with the French appearance and sence of running an hotel.
Spacey rooms,full buffet breakfast,nice gardens.
The pool was a kind of old technology.

“Great service, rates, from A.J.C Toronto, Canada”

We stayed in this hotel 1 night only after reading positive Tripadvisor reviews for the hotel closest to the airport. It seems they are 2 very different hotels named Myrto in Athens. One is located in the center on Plaka and has bad travelers reviews. The other one is located in northern part, close to the airport ( 20 min. drive) on Marathon Av. in very well kept garden with the large pool, spotless rooms, elegant bathrooms and certainly above average service. After several delays we were picked up from the airport by the owner who waited patiently with our name sign. After we arrived, he organized a small snack and helped with the complicated international calls inspite of of very late hour (2 AM ). The next morning after large, delicious american breakfast he gave us a small tour of this elegant residential area on the way to the airport. Our rate for the room, transportation and even the the phone call was very reasonable. Everything in this hotel was spotless and in great condition. The email communication was immediate. The hotel is close to the beach and Rafina Port. We highly reccomend this hotel for great facilities, reasonable rates and above average service.
was great.

“Just Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2006

We stayed at this hotel prior to joining a tour. This hotel was by far the best hotel we've stayed at on mainland Greece. It took us over 15 hours to get to Greece and we arrived about 3 a.m. Greek time. Even though our flight was delayed, someone from the hotel was there to pick us up and help us with our luggage. We checked in and were given a hand written note about sights and excursions we might be interested in. All the food was prepared in-house and it was great. The pool was fantastic. The in-suite jaccuzies are not what they are in North America. Their jaccuzies are the wall mounted showers with different massage options, but still very nice. They also always had hot water - a rare treat in Greece. Very very very clean and no worries about leaving your belongings in the room. The beach is further than 600m and it is better to wait until the afternoon to go walking around. They also took us to some shopping, free of charge. These people were nothing but helpful and obviously take a lot of pride in operating their establishment. You will not be disappointed staying there. We had a fantastic and memorable time.
