First impression of the hotel was a bit disappointing, as the website had such great photos of the place. I didn't expect it to be just off the main road, however, once inside, and the help with received from the staff, took all my disappointment away.
We were 4 girls and were given 2 twin rooms, right next to each other, leading on to a veranda, which lead towards the garden and the pool. Unfortunately the pool was not in use whilst we were there as it was receiving maintenance, plus we were not in the height of season.
Rooms were adequate size, beds were ok, we slept soundily every night, but could have been cause of the ouzo! Bathroom was good size, plenty of towels and it was cleaned every day. Only issue with bathroom was the slight drainage smell in the evenings, but then that is to be expected in most med countries, however, I can imagine it could be worse in the summer. The other issue was the ventilation fan that came on every time you went into the bathroom and put on the lights and it was a bit noisy. TV was small, not flat screen, but had plenty of chanels to view and there was also a small fridge, which was handy for putting in your own groceries.
Walls were a bit thin, we could hear our friends talking next door and you could hear anything that went on in the hallway, but as it was not peak season we were not disturbed that much, I would imagine we could be heard coming in late all the time.
Breakfast was plentiful! Loads to choose from, cereals, fruit, greek yoghurt, pastries, toast, eggs, cheese, hams - nice choice and it was not on a limited time frame either, so ideal really if you didn't want to get up early! It was served in a lovely room over looking the gardens.
We never had dinner in the restaurant, but we saw a few people who did and on the last day, despite them having finished their lunch seating, they made us up a lovely Greek salad mid afternoon for a great price and let us take it to our room to eat. You could always get a drink at the bar though!
Staff were great! Family run hotel and all could speak English very well and were always happy to give directions, help and advice. We hired a car from their front desk and it was there within the hour. Great service and at a resonable price too. I would recomend this if you are staying for more than 4 days as you get to go to see temples within the area. We also went to Lake Vouliagmeni, a thermal lake which was lovely.
Athens was just an hour bus ride away, which cost €2.60. Bus stop was 5min walk from hotel, however, it is on a busy main road. In hindsight I'm glad we were not in the centre of Athens, firstly cause of all the troubles that were going on that week and secondly, cause it is a very busy city and highly polluted.
Our hotel organised a taxi to meet us at the airport and also take us back, which cost us €40 each way.
To sum up, would certainly stay here again, as such a warm welcome and accommodating staff. They even have a pc which you can use free of charge.
