Slightly expensive, yes, but worth it - the location is really perfect and it's a very soothing, relaxed place to stay. We had a corner room with a balcony, very spacious, shower slightly tricky to operate but it's a minor quibble. More towels than in any hotel I've stayed in before. Brilliant views from the bathroom window as well as from the balcony. Breakfast is enormous and very good. On one day when we missed breakfast they brought a pot of coffee to our room within 5 minutes of asking. The rooftop bar was nice and definitely worth doing for an early evening drink, but later on you should definitely wander round the Bairro Alto streets and try out the little bars with their terrifyingly cheap sangria and caipirinhas.
