“The Best Family Vacation EVER. Beautiful Villa, Property & Mostly The STAFF!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2010

WOW!! So much more than what we expected. Thanks Debbie for getting this done for us. I know it took some work on your end to get us the dates we needed. Our family of 4 stayed at Mullion Cove for 7 nights. The furnishings were beautiful! It is the original Villa/First villa built. It has the "old style" features. Very well taken care of. If you like the fine quality workmanship of older homes you will love this villa. We live in a 1885 Victorian and we really appreciated this home. We will be back and stay at this same villa next summer for sure. It also has a great big pool! There is a wonderful view of the ocean and the garden is endless.Very private. Flowers growing everywhere. Hummingbirds galore! Ask Feldon to help you find some of their nests. You'll find him down at the beach. So, maybe if he has some extra time, he can give you a tour of the grounds. He knows every flower, bird, bird call, song, nest, tree, plant, ocean creature, etc. Just tell him that "Amber sent you his way." He'll remember. I was asking him question after question the whole time I was there and he always had the answer. I would also request him to go along if you take the snorkel trip. It's a great price. It's not per person but per hour. I think $35 an hour. Feldon went with us and I followed him in the water and he pointed out everything I could touch and not touch. He encouraged me to touch the things I really did not want to touch, but I did it and was proud of myself. He spoted the many jellyfish and helped me to avoid them with ease. He even picked one up out of the water for me to see. I yelled for him to put it down and he said "It just stings a little bit." Too much excitement!! Maurice made a breakfast daily-wonderful omlettes! Jackie prepared us wonderful food for lunch and dinner.. We left the menu up to her. It was better that way because she knows what's good!! She is a true chef. She can cook it up!! Best food we ever had! I gained 8lbs! Thanks for that by the way Jackie. She's also a hot tamale!! He nickname given to her by me was HOTSTUFF! She would just laugh and tell me I was silly. Then again, Feldon did make some mean Pumpkin Juice and Guiness Drinks! That probably did not help with my gain of 8 lbs! You have to have one, or two... Maurice was our driver and all around great go to guy for anything. We relied on him for a lot. He was always around when we needed him. He arranged our trips/excursions. We love our Maurice! Wonderful man!! Kenton was our nightman. If you needed anything during the night he was right there in the kitchen. Our lovable guard dog Felix, was always around. He loved the boys and my husband. He wanted to get in the pool and play with them so badly but we knew he was trained not to and he knew it too. He had his place and he knew where he could and could not go. But I tell you one thing, if there was trouble at that pool with one of my boys, we would have known about it. He probably would have went beserk! The great thing about the pool was that you could always see it. From wherever you were. (The dogs are a wonderful addition to the family.)
Kim my boys(ages 8,10) Nanny was a wonderful gift. She was attentive and kind. She was always getting them what they needed. We love you Kim. Sharon was the housekeeper. She was always keeping things spotless. Our laundry was cleaned everyday and it smelled wonderful!! Thanks Sharon!! Our wonderful smelling Headman Aldeen! We miss you! Always getting us whatever we needed. Aldeen always looked his best and was always smiling. Makes great drinks too! Donald was our gardener. He would pick fresh flowers from the garden daily and ask me if they were ok with me for the Villa. Of course they were!! He picked tons of puss tails and decorated the table with the other fellas for my son's birthday party. They all came out to a flower decorated table with streamers and a homemade cake with candles singing happy birthday. It was like we were all family. I miss them all so much. Thank you all so much for such wonderful, wonderful memories. We can't wait to make more with all of you again! We love you all! Amber, Scott. Owen and Aiden Randall

“Luxurious/Secluded/Fantastic--The best vacation I have ever had...”

We searched for a very special honeymoon and did not want to be just another couple waiting in line at a buffet at a mega resort. This was our first trip to Jamaica so we were a little worried because many of our friends advised us against going there. All of our worries were dissolved when we saw Ricardo's smiling face at the airport. He handled everything! The way the staff spoiled us is ridiculous, no other vacation we have ever had can compare to the Bluefields Bay experience. The food is fantastic, the water is gorgeous, the seclusion is sublime. I cannot wait to return! Do not miss the trip to YS Falls with a picnic lunch and horseback riding at Paradise Plantation.

(since it was just the two of us we stayed at Milestone Cottage. We did tour all of the other houses which are much larger and they are all so gorgeous)

“Magical, exceeded expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

My husband and son (almost 3) just returned from a week at Bluefields. We stayed at Cottonwood Cottage and from the instant Percy met us at the airport we knew it would be wonderful. The villa was beautiful and elegant but still so comfortable, we felt at home immediately. The service was the same - the staff was gracious, polite, and the same time so warm and kind and funny that we loved all of them right away. Our son was gifted with Kim - an incredibly nanny and companion for Anthony. She played in the pool, whipped up grilled cheese and fruit smoothies and soothed tears after a bee sting.

As parents of a young child, going on vacation and being able to enjoy leisurely lunches and dinners as a couple was incredible. And those lunches and dinners? SUBLIME. The fish was perfect, the lobster decadent, every fruit and vegetable was fresh and deliciously prepared. We were so spoiled and indulged.

This was the perfect vacation. Swimming in the stunning pool and playing in the sand before breakfast, walks along the grounds looking for lizards and birds, resting in the hammock, snorkleing and kayaking.

Every member of the staff was fantastic. Our headman, cook, nightwatchman (who made us wonderful coffee every morning) housekeeper, the lovely young men who kept the beach area so tidy and always made sure I had towels and a comfy lounge chair.

We cannot wait to go back and share Bluefields with more of our family. I feel evangelical about this experience!

“An experience like no other”

From the moment we found our driver at Mo-Bay airport, everything went so smooth. We got to the villas, dinenr was ready and when we got back to the villa our bag was unpacked better than I would have done it myself.

Cottonwood willa is amazing with doors opening up to the ocean and a four poster king sized beds complete with high ceilings and the most amazing shower also opening out to outside

We had the most relaxing time ever, never had to do any type of thinking except for choosing our meals which were excellent. Thanks to the great cook. It was authentic cuisine, no buffet, ni line-ups.

The one down-side is that we will never be able to go on vacation to another all-inclusive resort in the future.
This place deserves to be known and visited

“Exceeded our expectations by far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2010

Bluefields Bay Villas, Jamaica, are worth every penny! 21 family members, from ages 9 to 78 gathered in June 2010 to celebrate a 75th birthday and had the “best vacation ever!” Eight of us stayed in the Hermitage, ( the others in Cottonwood and Mullion Cove),a elegant open-plan house with pool on the doorstep and the ocean a few steps down through the jungly garden. Initially wary that it would be too formal, we soon found the staff unpretentious, friendly, extraordinarily helpful and lots of fun. Want early morning coffee? It’s waiting for you. Want stunning table settings with flowers and candles and silver? Every night. Want 3-course dinners or a peanut butter sandwich? You got it! Need yet another beach towel provided on the spot because it’s your 5th time in the water? No, problem, mon! We spent days hanging out in the warm gentle sea water or soft sand stretch of beach, often a drink of some sort in hand; occasionally not even having to get out of the water to receive it! Late afternoon cocktail hour we gathered at Hermitage to watch glorious thunderstorms roll across the bay in front of us, with pyrotechnic lightning displays followed by Technicolor sunsets, followed by those star-crowded skies only visible in remote places. Yes, you can confer with staff to choose menus, but food was so good we didn’t bother after the first couple days, just said, “surprise us!” Kids were accommodated with kid-friendly food and so was our pregnant granddaughter’s delicate stomach. Beautiful accommodations, (yes, air-con if needed in the big airy bedrooms) wonderful ocean with chairs, towels, rafts, kayaks, snorkeling equipment all provided, a United States office staff that promptly and patiently answered dozens of phone calls and email questions and made us feel secure that this would be a great vacation. Little did we know that the on site staff would make it a fabulous time. It’s a family place if you’ve got family; it’s a grown-up place for those who need a get-away. It’s a most romantic place whether for a honeymoon or a 50th anniversary. It’s owned and run by the Moncure family, not an agency which makes a huge difference we think in the whole experience. Our 11 year old said it was better than Disneyland; our 78 year old said he was content never leaving the house; our 20-somethings having been toweled off for dinner were back in the water soon after; our Type A’s admitted they never opened their cell phones all week! Yes, places to go nearby – Black River with crocs, YS Falls with rope swing, local preschool, fishing and snorkeling trips to off shore reef, but most of the time, we simply enjoyed just being at Bluefields Bay Villas. Find a way to go, you won’t regret it!
