“Fantastic hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

We spent 2 nights with Anne and Kevin in their lovely farmhouse near Coldstream. The welcome was warm, the food was excellent and plentiful, our room was clean and comfortable. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. They recommended The Fishermans Arms in Birgham (a few minutes away by car) for a meal and drink, and that too was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone.

“Lovely and friendly.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

I'm not a regular stayer at B&Bs as I don't like the feeling of invading someone's home but I can only pass on praise for the warm welcome - me a soaked cyclist on the C&C route into Anne and Kevin's house - thank you - fabulously welcoming hosts, lovely home and just the ticket to send me on my way up to Edinburgh. THe Fisherman's Arms is a welcome 25 minute walk - which serves great food and I actually appreciated the stroll after a long days peddling.

My ONLY grumble was that the footboards on the bed make sleep a little uncomfortable if you are over 6' but I found the Fisherman's serves a good pint or 2 to negate that !

Fully deserving of it's No.1 position.

Thank you very much for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Just for the record one of the beds in our twin bedroom does not have a foot board and the other does. Unfortunately you chose the wrong one but your comments are much appreciated and we would love to welcome you back again in the future.

“Warm welcome in the Borders”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2011

we were cycling the Coasts and Castles (South) cycle route and stopped at Fernyrig on our 2nd night. It's right on the route and had everything I needed to make myself comfortable after battling the elements for 70 miles.
Anne provided a warm welcome and an amazing breakfast with fresh free range eggs from her own chickens - she also provided us with advice for keeping our own.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside and plenty of wildlife. A great place to stay.

Room Tip: Double room is on the ground floor

“a taste of home comforts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

What a lovely surprise in my first stay in the area on business - relaxed, home comforts with a real touch of class. No en suite, but a wonderfully deep and inviting bathtub, with varied and out of the ordinary reading material in the bathroom and living area. Puts a smile on your face as soon as you enter, and you're still smiling as you're thanking the hosts on the way out. terrific accommodation, amazingly comfortable bed, and fantastic food - its saved in my sat nav for future trips!

“Excellent breakfast, wonderful and helpful hosts.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

We stayed for three nights on a house hunting trip. Anne and Kevin were wonderful hosts, offering helpful suggestions and are very knowledgable about the area. The home reared eggs at breakfast were the best we have ever tasted. Toast was hot and plentiful as was the tasty porridge with lots of extras available. With numerous choices all beautifully presented it was a pleasure to eat here. We also enjoyed Kevin's Thai lamb curry as a last minute supper order, again wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and we would recommend, without hesitation this restful and scenic accommodation. Thank-you.
