“Excellent staff, good value for money”

Overall I was very satisfied with my weekend stay.

I chose this hotel as it was a Radisson Blu property - a brand which I usually trust. Booked my room on Radisson own website - price was not that cheap but remained reasonable by Swiss standards.

If you arrive by train, it is easier to take tram line 3 to the hotel. Travel time from the railway station is around 10 mins.

Check-in was quick and I felt welcome - a HUGE thumbs-up regarding staff friendliness and efficiency during my entire stay. The room was quite spacious and functional with a nice view over St Gallen and the surrounding hills. I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities: flat-screen TV, coffee-making facilities, individual air-conditioning, large desk with a chair. Very comfortable King-sized bed with firm mattress and fluffy pillows. All equipment were working properly.
Bathroom spotlessly clean and adequate - however it feels a bit cramped due to the shower being quite large.

Breakfast buffet is expensive (35CHF) but opulent and tasty. Good offering of cold cuts, smoked salmon, various cheese, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit salad. The muesli tasted quite fresh. Warm food included bacon, sausages and tasty scrambled eggs. Breakfast room was bright, staff efficient and unobstrusive.
On the downside tables are rather close to each other so that you can not move around freely. Newspapers available but only in German.

I ordered room service for dinner. Good service with reasonable waiting time of 25 minutes. Main dish (veal stripes in mushroom sauce) and dessert (creme brulee) were delicious.

There are two Internet computers in the lobby. Access to the airline websites is free (very practical for online check-in), otherwise it costs a rather hefty 0.60CHF/min.

All in all I can warmly recommend this hotel for its great staff and very comfortable room. However room price is not cheap - it is better to keep an eye for promotional offers or discounted weekend rates.

“Excellent location, perfect weekend stay”

Hotel is right next to the Brewery and their shop, close to the centre and walking distance to all the attractions. We were lucky enough to experience St.Gallen Fest , when the city was full of concerts and the hotel was a great place to stay-close to the centre yet far enough from the noise. ur room was comfortable and clean, and also quiet, my husband and I slept very well. Full breakfast buffet is expensive but worth it, really good selection of food.

“Great staff, too far from city centre, amenities very expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

The staff was very nice and went far beyond expected levels of service. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well designed. Too bad the hotel is really far from the centre with nothing interesting within walking distance. We were in St Gallen for Aug 1st, the Swiss national holiday, and the city was shockingly quiet in the evening. We had to go to the Bodensee resorts to find some action...
Hotel parking and breakfast are outrageously expensive: we skipped both and parked in a nearby public parking. Altogether we still had a nice stay.

“About as Picturesque as Swizerland can offer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2011

I chose this property as it was a Radisson Blu, a brand I had used before and therefore trusted in a new place to be consistent. I was not disappointed.

The property is about 60 kilometers outside Zurich, and accessible by a train direct from the Zurich Flughaven. The train ride was about an hour and 10 minutes, and deposited me at a station maybe 10 minutes ride from the hotel. A taxi was available, and in no time I was at the front desk of the hotel.

The property shares it's first floor with a casino. The check in was efficient and I was shortly in my room.

The Business Room was nicely spaced, and had clean lines in it's organization and placement. Window sizes were large, and an automated levellor system was used with in-window blinds. The floor was part carpet, part wood, which I found comfortable.

Lighting was very good for the room. The bed was low, but very comfortable.

The bathroom was European small sized, but the stand up shower was surprisingly large for the room. All fixtures were clean, new and functioned well.

The first floor restaurant had a nice Breakfast Buffet, which was crowded at times, but service was overall excellent for coffee refills.

The town of St Gallen was within easy walking distance from the Hotel, and many restaurants and shoppes were nearby. The hotel itself is next to a brewery called Shutzengarten, which offered many fine beers in it's retail store.

The hotel features a spa and workout area, but as the workout area was very small, I chose instead to jog up the mountain in back of the hotel. In the cool morning air and steep elevations at times, it offered the optimal workout to start the day.

I experienced no problems during my stay, and my check out was as simple as my check in.

I would highly recommend the hotel as THE place to stay in St Gallen, and would easily return there in the future without hesitation

“Very friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 March 2011

We booked the Radisson Blu since we had to be in Sankt Gallen for a look at the University. Turned out to be located on the bottom of the hill, only a 10 minute walk from there. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is extremely helpful and the location great. Only a short walk to the picturesque city.

Will be returning in July!!
