This Hotel sits at the top of the old town of St Gallen. Its a luxury hotel without losing its old world atmosphere and friendly feel. The staff a friendly and helpful, and have a sweet sense of humour. More than just polite and efficient. The rooms are spacious, and we had a gorgeous view over the street that was very convenient for viewing the Soap Box Derby, and for attending the street party that followed.
Just trot down the hill and you have an plentiful choice of restaurants and shops. For sights you can't beat the village and the superb Abbey the like of which I have seen nowhere else in Europe (or anywhere). Check out the medieval library for another awe inspiring experience.
Or walk up the hill to see the waterfall then follow it down to take a dip in the mineral baths. I love this town so much I want to move here. Seriously.

Stayed here for one night while on a business trip. Everything was up to the standard you would expect in a four star hotel, efficient staff, comfortable room, good food, etc. Perfect place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable night.

Spent 8 days at the Einstein, excellent location just off the town centre so not too noisy, yet only a 2 minute walk from the cathedral quarter and 5 minutes at most from the shops and restaurants.

Service from all the staff was top quality, rooms and breakfast really good.

I would definitely stay at the Einstein again. It's not cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

From arrival to departure, and we stayed over a week, we enjoyed the traditional elegance and comfort of the hotel. We were impressed with the way in which a very old hotel had been well maintained. It was classically European in decor and service yet in no way uncomfortably formal. All staff were very professional in appearance, manner and efficiency. They had a good sense of humour and were very helpful - sometimes beyond the call of duty. It was a pleasure taking the short walk through cobbled streets past old buildings from the hotel to the old city, abbey, historic library and the commercial centre of St Gallen.
