“Basic hotel, nothing fancy”

The rooms of the hotel were quite spacious but out-dated. Especially the bathroom looked quite old. There were no hygienic products in the bathroom. There were no refrigerator or minibar in the room. So the room had a bed and TV. And a leather couch!?!

The breakfast was quite good, basic products and of course some gnutella. The hotel had restaurant/bar, which closes at 23:00. We just spend the nights at the hotel during our business trip and the hotel served that purpose well. Although there was no Ethernet connection in the rooms and the WiFi was quite expensive. On my opinion, if you spend over 100 Swiss Francs on your hotel rooms, you should get some kind of internet connection for free.

“Pricey accomodation with budget type service”

Thun is a small town and offers few accomodation places and hence the reason for it to be farely pricey. Hotel Restaurant is an older style accomodation and for 160 Swiss Francs a night, it was certainly expensive. If you can afford that much and want to just crash the night and leave the next day, then do book it, but I dont recommend it. It did include breakfast but very basic with cereal, toast, cheese and some pastry. The other thing that we didnt quite like that there werent many places open to eat after 6pm. Given it was a touristy town, there wasn't much.
