I just returned from a week at Borgo Dei Conti in Perugia, and I must say that my friends were right. It is simply a fairytale setting from the large castle gates to enter to the turret (yes, I stayed in the room with the turret and view to the lake). The service was superb, the food divine and the attention to detail in the restoration of the grounds is simply amazing. It was hard to tell what was old and what was new (the pool, etc).

The blend of old charm and antiques along side modern furniture is interesting and works well. The library has fabulous books and a 3 volume limited edition Dante on display. The chapel is charming, and if I ever get married again, this is where it will be held!

Make sure you walk the grounds, as there are interesting things everywhere that you will miss otherwise. If there were a higher rating than 5, they would get it!

We stayed here as a base for day trips to Assisi, Siena, Orvieto and others and it was wonderful to come back to.

This Resort is a luxury oasis in the glorious countryside of Umbria. We stayed here for family holiday and with a small infant and the service and quality was impeccable. The surroundings and ambience was magical. The rooms were absolutely completed to a high luxury standard. The restaurant and its food is simply delicious and unique and yet so simple and traditional. Michelin, have you been here yet?

We highly recommend this Resort to everyone who wants to experience a historical, culinary and relaxing vacation.
