Would you like to live in this aristocratic castle, surrounded by a huge old park?

The castle stands on a wooded hill near the Italian city of Umbria and Perugia. In the atmosphere of old times and stories you already immersed in the ancient city of Siena in the Chianti wine road on which you can reach the castle. Surrounded by tall trees and a majestic castle looks absolutely unassailable.

Inside the castle is designed with the utmost modern comforts, but the Italians have carefully saved all the old furniture. Therefore, the inhabitants of the castle are not hard to imagine being guests at the old ball.

The castle was built in the style of the XVIII century in Italy. It is surrounded by a huge park, in which there is a picturesque mill and several small cottages, which can also be live, enjoying the peace and solitude. Some cottages have private patios green.

All rooms with antique furniture have air conditioning, panoramic view, minibar, in-room safes; WI-FI (free), telephone, TV, satellite TV, pay TV, hairdryer, bath and shower, hot tea and coffee, alarm system; central heating.

For outdoor enthusiasts bicycles can be rented. In addition, there are golf, tennis, riding, horseback riding, tennis, fitness center and massage therapy.

Nearest town: Perugia 25 km Siena and 90 km on the wine road of Chianti.

We were two couples who stayed one night in the villa ada which adjoins the larger castle. We loved this accommodation, it was peaceful and having the castle where we ate breakfast and dinner was a real treat for us. The accommodation in the villa was fine, maybe a little small but that didn't detract from our experience. The evening meal we had in the restuarant (option of set price) was the best meal we had during our travels through italy with excellent service to match. A little way out of town so you will need a car.

I make a habit of staying at historic places and castles, so not new to the ups and downs of these properties. And I have not yet found one I had a problem with. Until now that is.
With the exception of one of the night staff, who tried hard, the staff were curt bordering on rude. The room was cold and dirty, there was plaster falling from the ceiling and laying on the floor; the bath was moldy, there were spiders I killed over the course of our stay. I have pics to document, no kidding. The floors in the common areas creaked with each step. The pics on our walls were duplicates of each other, that was just funny but illustrates the lack of attention to furnishings. The coffee maker was covered with greasy dust. The fixtures in the bath were tarnished. Our expensive room was behind the night clerk's office, so VERY noisy. They blocked the driveway to the front door of the hotel when people were trying to check out during a down pour, so we had to either wait the 45 mins for them to lift the gate or get soaking wet taking suitcases to the distant parking lot. The WIFI was 'broke' I could go on, but you get the idea. TripAdvisor should reevaluate its relationship with this hotel.

Located in the midst of the Umbrian mountains near Perugia, the castello is a historic accommodation. Given such, we were not expecting much comfort, but the room was nicely decorated and we slept well. Our room was in the Villa Ada, which is an adjacent building and cheaper. Breakfast is in the castle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The premises is quite large, and is overtly beautiful. A gem for guests who like the quiet countryside.
