My husband and I stayed here in late August and I have to say it was a definite highlight of our trip! Nicola was wonderful- he is very sweet and so helpful, and the views from the castle can't be beat!
It is a bit out of the way from the main area of Siena and I would probably recommend having a car to stay here. We stayed in the Blue room, which was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable. It has a TV and wifi, not AC, but there is really no need for it. We were here in late August and the sleeping temp was perfect. It is very peaceful here, we spent an afternoon just relaxing and enjoying the views and the breeze!
Nicola served us breakfast every morning, and he was very accommodating with the time! Our favorite was the warm croissants served with delicious homemade jam and fresh fruit!
If you don't get to stay in the tower room, one of the towers is accessible to climb up and enjoy the views and to get some great pictures of the Tuscan countryside.
The castle is surrounded by olive bushes and grape vines, and you can actually purchase wine and olive oil from the castle. It has a picture of the castle on the label- a tasty souvenir!
Staying here was a wonderful! If you are looking for a peaceful, unique experience, this is the place to stay!
