My boyfriend and I were on a car excursion and we had a night stopover in Villa Belvedere hotel in San Gimiganno that is a gorgeous italian village. The staff is friendly the place is beautiful with a nice garden and a restaurant there. It is good that they provide 24h reception and a safe parking place supervised by cameras. recommended!

“Excellent base for a Tuscan Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

We have just returned from our stay at the Villa Belvedere in San Gimignano and thought it was lovely. All the staff were friendly and polite, especially the guy at reception. The hotel is within walking distance to San Gimignano town so we could have a couple of drinks after dinner. We also loved the fact that breakfast was served in the garden. The hotel also has a pool and we had a swim when we got back in from sightseeing as it was very hot in July! We visited towns like Sienna, Lucca, Pisa, Volterra and many more little places and also did the Chianti Region. We went to the ´Brolio Winery´where they give you a tour of the castle and the factory after which you get to taste 3 different wines. We were lucky as we turned up just before 15.00 which was the last tour of the day. Sat Nav had difficulties finding the place as it tried sending us to another town called Brolio about 1 hour away, so perhaps better to check out their website before you leave, also about the exact times of the tours.
San Gimignano itself is very picturesque, we went to town every night for dinner and icecream. Also went to the 1300 Museum and the bell tower which had nice views of the city. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday!

“Great location easy uphill walk to city, great for families, basic clean hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

We stayed in San Gimignano for a night before heading to Siena for a week. Found Hotel Belvedere online and reserved by phone. Great price for location. Staff excellent when we called for directions. Short 5-7 min walk uphill into walled city past nice B&Bs and homes. Felt it was a very safe neighborhood. GREAT for kids. Very nice and clean pool, hammocks, and room to run and explore. Free parking on gravel lot. Gorgeous views of Tuscan countryside. Staff very nice and helpful. Great Wi-Fi service on front porch, still working out problems for the rooms, but staff kind and trying to get it set up. Simple 3-Star Italian room but very clean and nice big bathroom. Marginal A/C.... Will come back again!!!

“Average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2009

Stayed here for one night. Location was okay, bit of a walk uptown to the center. The view from the garden of the hotel was stunning, view from the rooms were not. Our room was very pink and orange and walls were indeed thin. Staff was friendly and helped out. Breakfast was okay, like other hotels in Tuscany. Overall. an average hotel with a reasonable rate. The city is beautiful, try to visit it off-season.

“good location near San G”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2008

The hotel is in a great position, 100 metres from walls of this most beautiful town, easy walk day or night, when very atmospheric. Rooms were ok, large and bright and clean and comfortable. Nice grounds with great views. This is a base, you dont spend much time in hotel, so dont expect a lot of facilities. People very pleasant. Only down side was unchanging and sparse breakfast. You wont be disapointed with San Gimi.
