The hotel is on the main square. Said that, no better place to stay. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and the best gelatto in the world just a few meters away. Best choice in the village.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Leon Bianco! At the last minute we decided we wanted to stay a night in San Gimignano, and we were so pleased to have booked this hotel. The rooms were clean and cool, and the location could not be beat. We were steps away from the best gelato in San Gimignano, the Torre Grossa, shops and restaurants. The staff was very nice, the breakfast was lovely, and it was awesome to explore San Gimignano more once most of the tourists left in the evening. I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel couldn't be better located, as other reviewers had already said, it's in the heart of San Gimignano at the Piazza della Cisterna.
The rooms are really spacious, we have made a reservation for 3 as we made a family trip and this was the hugest family room we've got in our trip around Tuscany.
The bathroom is great and it has just been renewed. Also worth to say that everything was super clean and the beds were very comfortable.
The lady that helped us out with the check in was very kind, totally opposite the the grumpy old lady at our check out time. She was totally inflexible regarding a late check out at noon and even moaned regarding us leaving the luggage at the lobby as we were visiting the city during the day.
(notice that the check out time is 11:00am, what's a real "con" in my opinion....)
Another improvement opportunity for this hotel is regarding breakfast, it's poor and could be better and have items replaced more often.
Internet access wasn't available in the rooms (very weak signal practically no signal at all)
The access by car inside the city is allowed only for dropping and catching the luggage, its also restricted to some venues, so get informed before arriving because I did took a wrong street and it was very embarrassing.....
Despite the cons I've mentioned above, this is a very good hotel, with a great location, super clean and I not only recommend it, but coming back to San Gimignano this is were I'll stay.

A lovely hotel in a charming medieval town. The hotel is located in the heart of San Gimignano near the well on Piazza della Cisterna. There are great restaurants just a street away. My sister and I stayed 4 nights in late October. Our room had two single beds & a spacious bathroom. The room wasn't lavish, but it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great with an assortment of breads and pastries as well as yogurt, cereal, cheeses and meats. There is inside seating and an outdoor patio with excellent views. The staff was friendly & offered us free Wi-Fi, though I believe there is typically a charge. My only complaint regards the early morning noise. The town wakes up early and the trash collection, street cleaners and other randomness generate significant noise. Also, our room (#29) was very close to the breakfast area, so there was a lot of movement from that area. The town is quite small, so a hotel a bit outside the town center may be preferable if you're sensitive to noise. Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel and would recommend it.
