Although this property is very spa oriented, it worked well and was in a good location of sightseers driving a rental car. The two-room suite was quiet and quite spacious. The furnishings were nondescript. Each room had French doors out to a terrace shared by the neighboring rooms that offered a scenic view of the Tuscan countryside. After one long day of walking up and down hills and stairs in the spectacular towns we visited, I decided to soak in the jetted bathtub and slept like rock.
We were a bit taken aback when we saw people in the hotel dining room wearing hooded, terry cloth bathrobes as they were obviously partaking in the spa amenities. I was even more surprised however when I asked the front desk for robes and was told the manager said they would cost us €5 /day. Common sense prevailed when one of the employees intervened and we were ultimately loaned the robes at no additional charge.
Villa San Paolo was a good choice and a nice place to stay.
