We have stayed here twice and each time have booked a balcony room, and its very peaceful,fabulous weather each time.
The added bonus of a pool.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days in July with my parents and 2 young kids. The hotel is located right between San Gimignano and Volterra - about 15 km from either place, and about half an hour from Colle Val D'Elsa. The hotel is right next to a winery in the quaint town of San Gimignano; the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean - the breakfast is delicious as others have noted. The pool is beautifully maintained and the hosts Luca and Anna went out of their way to make it comfortable for us; there is a gym next to the pool. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone travelling in Tuscany.

The hotel doesn't have an attached restaurant outside of the breakfast buffet but there are a couple of nice restaurants nearby - Tre Archi the only one within walking distance.

The hotel has a beautiful website and would recommend booking directly with them - we used hotels.com and they charged us almost an extra $500 in service charges for the booking (2 rooms for 4 days)

My husband and I were celebrating both our 60th birthdays and 30yrs together and, after advising the hotel, they kindly upgraded us and surprised us with champagne and strawberries awaiting in our room. The location was perfect for us and wished we had stayed longer. The breakfast was the best we had in our month long travel throughout Italy. We definitely would recommend this hotel for anyone travelling in Tuscany.

but why metal grills over all windows and doors and panic alarms in the bedrooms which made us feel quite wary.

We booked a large room which was near the pool , the bed was very hard and uncomfy.

The hotel served great breakfasts and large cups of coffee in the evening, but one evening meal was disappointing.
