Booked this place 1 week prior. It was a reasonable room and receptionist spoke good English, was helpful in direction of bus stop and purchasing of bus tickets. The bus trip to Florence takes 15 minutes and you have to remember where to get off on the trip back. The room is reasonably clean and there's a kitchenette with fridge available. The place is like a serviced apartment so daily cleaning if not a routine. Room can be noisy as the apartment is next to a busy road without soundproof.

I hardly write reviews, however due to the lack of number of reviews when I booked the Quadra Key I feel I should help others in selecting hotels near Florence. I use tripadvisor frequently to narrow choices and solidify my opinions, therefore here goes an opinion....

This is not a hotel apartment, it is an apartment with some basic cleaning services (towel service every 3 days). The location is in a low income neighborhood of Florence, and the hotel/apartment building is hard to find (even with a GPS). We (family of 4) booked this hotel in order to use it as a launch pad to explore Tuscany (Pisa, Forence, Cinque Terre, Viareggio), however, I recommend staying further outside of Florence if you plan to do this (Viareggio is amazing). The apartment itself was basic clean (enough said). This stay did not hurt our wonderful vacation of Italy, but I must say it was the weakest link in a fantastic 2 week journey from Rome to Venice.

Room was more of an apartment really. Large and airy, with a little kitchenette, fridge and dishwasher.

The shower was fabulous, powerful.

Everything was very clean and the bed comfortable.

Lots of storage and a room safe.

Free Wi Fi in the room, that actually worked, get code off of receptionist.

Receptionist (male, cant remember his name) friendly and helpful.

Bus tickets available at reception too.

We are traveling with 2 big dogs (Rhodesian Ridgebacks) and there was NO issues at all with our stay. In fact we felt welcomed, which is a rare thing when traveling with 2 big dogs.

The dogs were allowed to be left in the room while we explored Florence, again a very rare thing. Of course we had to leave a contact number with reception in case there were any issues. However, there were none, given that our 2 BIG boys are very quiet and VERY VERY well behaved! We wish other hotels would be as understanding that big dogs do not mean trouble.

Anyway off of my soap box.

The only negative I would say is that the hotel is on a very busy and noisey road. However, the owners have clearly thought about this too and have almost soundproofed the property. I am a very light sleeper and this was not an issue for me to sleep with the patio doors (at the back) open all night.

Lastly the only negative is that the view from the balcony was not the best, however, we barely spent much time there as Florence was there to be seen!!!

I'm sure you will not be disappointed with this complex.

We chose and expected a 4 star hotel. We arrived to find a poorly groomed, unprofessional clerk (no lobby) who directed us to a separate building behind the parking lot where we found a smelly, battered old room where the promised "flat screen tv" was 1 foot square and the promised "hair dryer" would not plug into the wall. Noises from other apartments were totally overwhelming, the bed was two hard twin mattresses pushed together with only 1 cover, the shower was moldy and leaked what little hot water was available. The water also had a strange odor and taste. The balcony looked over rusted sheds and laundry, and was crowded with plastic storage units.
