“Very Good Clean Hotel BUT....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

But the location not so hot, It's close to the train station which can be good and bad at the same time, even in a beautiful and safe city like Florence to be walking around train stations at night by yourself...not a good idea, next time I'll stay at the Lucchesi again which is closer to a nicer area and the price is almost the same (Lucchesi is a little bit more $$).
Another HUGE problem - although the bathroom was renovated and nice sized my shower didn't work right, the water would get freezing then all of a sudden boiling hot whithin seconds I only stayed one night so I didn't even bother complaining (this was after staying at the horrible Piazza Veneza Hotel in Rome, so anything clean, new and with a hot shower was 5 stars for me at that point and I was tired of complaining to hotel staff).

The hotel staff was very nice and breakfast was good, but again not as good as the one I had in Plaza Lucchesi the previous year.

“Happy with stay”

We stayed in a quad room for 3 nights. The front desk was super, spoke very good english and made very good recommendations for food and attractions. Located an easy walk from train station and many sights & shopping. Great leather shops closeby!!!!!!!
The 2nd bedroom was a little uncomfortable but for a couple of nights is ok. Better to have 2 rooms and better bed. Maid service was excellent. Did I mention how nice the housekeeper was and what a good job of cleaning the room?
I would stay again.

“Lovely Hotel....definitely will return!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

The Embassy Hotel in Florence is only a short walk from the train station. Very easy to find.

Modern lobby and elevator, I was delighted to find that our room was lovely and modern with an awesome bathroom.

Our room had a high ceiling with a skylight and it was very spacious.

Bathroom was fantastic with a spacious shower and rainfall shower head.

Breakfast at the hotel was wonderful. Good quality cheese, cold cuts, bread and pastries and eggs.

Staff were helpful, polite and professional, although we had a small incident with the housekeeping staff (she threw something away that she wasn't supposed to)

Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Florence....

“Very snobbish hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

Gives the appearence of 4 star on the outside but rooms are very small and not as nice as other 4 stars in Florence. Breakfast does not have much variation. Front desk staff was very snobbish. When we spoke to a front desk employee in Italian, he refused to repeat slowly after telling him we didn't understand. Strange, because this hotel has nothing to be superior about.

“Good Hotel, but some disappointments”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

My wife, son and I stayed here for 5 days. Our room was not in the main building or the other large resort building. We had room 105 which was in a small complex with about 3 or 4 other rooms. When we walked into the room it smelled musty. Found some mold in one corner on the wall. The bathroom was not what I expected. Half of the bathroom floor was tile with a drain between the toilet and shower. The shower doors were folding doors that kept opening if you hit it with your arm or leg. After a shower if you wanted to use the toilet, the floor around the toilet was wet from the shower. There was no separate shower or tub. Our refrigerator did not work at all. Told the front desk, but it was never fixed or replaced. Had to put the soda and water on top of the air conditioning unit to cool it down. The room was large and appeared clean. The TV had a couple of English channels. The closet was very small. Breakfast was very good, lots to chose from. The location was very convenient to the train station. If I were to stay here again, I would not stay in room 105 or the small complex it was in. The other main buildings look nice from the other photos I see on this site. I would insist on one of those rooms instead. We made the most of it and for the money it was good.
