We stayed in Florence for about five days. It was amazingly unforgettable. The hotel staff greeted us ever so kindly with helping us with our (very heavy) luggage and were so helpful with tour bookings and suggestions on places to go. Fabrizio & Tommaso and their lovely family were very warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. I personally loved the paintings. The location was perfect and everything was within walking distance. We'll definitely visit again.

We came here to celebrate our 30th anniversary and it was a great decision, the hotel is great as are all the staff. We also trusted trip advisor for our choice of evening restaurants. You can walk to the hotel from the train station even with luggage otherwise a cab will only cost you about 12 euros. One thing to consider is that there is an initial set of stairs that you have to handle, they are not a problem but could be if you have a disability. Once you have mastered those steps you can then get the elevator.The happy hours were a great way to socialise and the drink is free flowing, we met some very nice people at these events.

From the moment we arrived at the reception desk, Fabrizio made us feel very welcome and we also met the lovely grandfather (Marcello) who was keeping a watchful eye on things! As it was my boyfriend's birthday, Fabrizio upgraded us to a suite which we were really touched by. Fabrizio was also very helpful in providing us with restaurant recommendations for lunch/dinner (which were all excellent) and Tomasso (Fabrizio's son) was great at following-up with the restaurant reservations and providing us with directions. The hotel is in a great location - perfect for all the sights - and the happy hour which is offered every evening is a really lovely touch. All in all Florence and Hotel Davanzati made for a lovely long weekend away - we would not hesitate to go back.

The owners/staff was excellent. They were very helpful and friendly. Rooms looked great, wifi included, deco was good... but bed was so-so. Can't say why but didn't get good sleep here. In the winter, the heaters were too warm and the only way to cool the room was to open a window, which was not a good idea. Location was great. If not for the bed (which we didn't have problems with a night before in Rome, and we walk a lot during the day, so it takes some effort not to sleep when given the chance at night), this would have been 5 stars. Regardless, don't let that discourage you. I would still recommend this hotel. Hopefully you'll sleep better.
