We spent 2 nights in Florence and had a very spacious room for 3 of us. The room had a double bed and 2 singles. It was nicely decorated and the location was excellent. The room had a kitchen (with not much equipment however) and AC and TV with MTV. The owner was very helpful. He gave us a map and pointed out the best bars, clubs and places to eat. We shared a bathroom with an adjoining room which wasn't ideal but we knew it was a shared bathroom when we booked. I would recommend this hostel and Florence to anyone.

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay this is it... its in a good location... very close to all the major attractions... as long as you arent planning on staying in your room it would be fine. The rooms are pretty much empty, no safe in the room and the doors to the rooms didn't seem very secure (aka I didn't feel safe leaving anything like a passport, money in the room). The bathrooms were fine but can get sort of dirty. We never got the towels but the sheets and everything were definitely clean. You can't expect much for how cheap it is and that its in a good location...

I wonder if a lot of people complaining here regularly expect to get something for nothing. We paid €60 per night for a room 5 minutes walk from the Duomo. At that price you should not be expecting luxury. We did get the room with the fresco - it was spacious but basic.

The main problem is the shared bathrooms - two bathrooms between quite a few rooms (6-8?) which meant we ended up having to queue to ensure we got access in a reasonable time.

The hostel does offer free internet access on a single terminal, though it didn't seem to be working all the time.

Overall, I'm usually looking for a cheap, clean hotel/hostel, conveniently located. This one ticks all the boxes...

Our room was spacious, clean and quite pleasant. Excellent location. Unfortunately, I think that only one of the rooms has a painted ceiling so don't get taken in by the photo!

We didn't expect luxury from any of our hotels along our travels around italy, and this certainly isn't luxury - very simple - a bed and a cupboard!
