This hotel is by far one of the best I've ever stayed at. The location was excellent, walking distance from the station and most of the main attractions in the city. The staff was incredibly helpful, nothing was too big a problem. However, the most amazing thing about this hotel is the roof top terrace. The views were truly magnificent and surpassed our expectations by far.
I will most definitely recommend Antica Torre to all of my friends and will return next year to explore the city some more.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else at any price. The location is perfect and the rooftop terrace is a wonderful place to view the city. There were no negatives at this hotel. The staff was exceptional at recommending restaurants. Eat at Buca Mario (within walking distance).

Anticipation! You've carefully selected your hotel after reading hundreds of reviews and looking at hundreds of photos...and it all comes down to the moment you first walk into your hotel room. Isn't it true? And how many times have we been a little or a lot disappointed. Yes, I know we get what we pay for, but sometimes...just sometimes we hit the jackpot. That's how I felt when we walked into our room at Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni...and that was before we went up to the terrace on the roof. The room itself was beautiful, very large, big spacious bathroom, lots of storage space, well lit, and best of all (as we found later) the bed was best we have 'ever' slept in while in Italy...and it was huge! The location is excellent (read other reviews) mainly because it's a few blocks away from the hordes! But close to the best part of Florence...which is out the door and across the Arno and into the interesting part of the city. Breakfast selection itself was as good as it can get...scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cornettos, fresh fruit, cereal...and oh did I mention sugar donuts! I don't eat donuts, but how could I resist having my yearly donut in Italy...so I did! The terrace is gorgeous and large and comfortable and the veiws are as described and shout to you "Oh...that's right...I'm in Florence...Italy!" This is not your classic hotel with large front desk and sitting area...personally that isn't our style, so I was good. But if you want the view and a touch of class, you should stay here. Oh...and if you've from the U.S. and you need a break from Italian food for a night, have dinner at "Tijuana" which is a Mexican restaurant on Via Ghibellina. It is actually very good...and really Mexican!
