“Great Location-Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of February 2012 during a snow shower/cold front. The hotel is very close SMN (Train Station) and is an easy walk to Medici Chapel/Duomo/Uffizi. The hotel is very close to Galleria Accademia, which is nice.

The rooms are typically European, but have a bathtub which is nice after a long day of walking. The staff is very courteous and helpful- I can't imagine them not trying to help someone with a problem. The housekeeping is very nice and when I dropped a luggage key, the housekeeper chased me down and gave it back.

The staff speaks good English- which is very convenient.

The breakfast was generous. I typically placed ham and cheese in a croissant, which made breakfast delicious. Also, very easy to take the breakfast to go for an afternoon snack.

There are to great restaurants neat the hotel. One is four doors down on the left and recommend by the staff. The food is authentic and delicious. I even ordered a second entree of pasta to the waitress suprise. The second restaurent is a bistro three blocks down on the north side of San't Antonio between Via della Amorino and Via Faenza. Both restaurants are reasonably priced and have great food.

Room Tip: The rooms without a view have windows overlooking the alleyway. If a view is important, book a room...

“A great Find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This hotel had nice rooms and very friendly service. The people who served breakfast were so friendly they even kept their sense of humor when dour British tourists came down for tea and refused to eve speak one word of Italian. The servers and the front desk people were very helpful. This centrally located hotel offered reasonable prices and easy access to every part of the city. We hope to visit it again soon.

“3 stars in the city....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

The Botticelli is a three star hotel, as suggested by its rating. But it's a great little three star, Although on the border of the historic centre it's definitely in the city. Surrounded by great little honest tratorias and snack bars, next to the briliant mercato San Lorenzo food hall, and basillica of the same name, the Academia nearby, its position is perfect. Duomo is barely a 10 minute stroll away, and its surroundings suggest a cool and safe wider ethnicity; Chinese, Turkish and Braziian eateries are nearby.
Staff are approachable and professional -- we felt well looked after. Breakfast is simple and repeats, but adequate and relaxed, and provides a good basic start to the day. The cleanliness rating was 4.2 /4.5 - which atrracted us - and this is about right. Without prompting the hotel provided iced sparkling wine for my wife's birthday; a nice touch which represents the general vibe of the place.
It can be a bit noisy early morning as the street vendors wheel their stalls across the cobbles to set up in the outdoor market. Depending on your viewpoint this could be annoying or acepted as the sound of a real working city and the sound of the Botticelli's centrality.
We'd return, and, for the small differences a 4 star offers, stick with this good value 3 star in the future.

“Good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

The location beats all. The breakfast gets lame after 15 days. The bathroom is a joke. Staff is kinda ok.

“Great hotel, good location”

Loved the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and its in a good location. Would have got 5 stars but the bathroom was too cramped - opening the door was impeded by the loo and getting in and out of the bath was a real feat.
