Our stay at Fenice Palace hotel was short. We changed hotel as soon as we could find somewhere else. Its in dire need of a renovation... its dirty, the beds are uncomfortable, the carpet is stained, the rooms stink of smoke, there was hair in our bed. The breakfast cutlery and dinning area was soooo dirty, the bathroom was un except-able, and there is no wireless. The location does not make up for the 4 star money you are paying. There are far nicer hotels, in better locations for similar money, which we found after 5 hours of checking into the Fenice Palace. Do not stay here!

We stayed at the fenice Palace at the beginning of July as it was recommended to us by the travel agent. You can't fault the location but Florence isn't huge and it's easy to get around so I'd happily forfiet the central location for a better hotel.

The carpets were stained, and although the bed sheets were clean the bed itself was pretty uncomfortable. The air conditioning was a fan covered by a grate on the wall and was so loud in the night we had to turn it off. There was also no natural light. On the plus side the room was spacious with a safe.

Breakfast wasn't great (coffee was dire) but just enough variety not to get too bored. The bar was also never manned. They also tried to charge us for a bottle of wine which was still in the room.

Overall pretty shabby and disappointing. Have stayed much better 3* hotels. If you really want the location just make sure you don't want to spend much time in the hotel!

I reviewed this hotel a few months ago ( I stayed here in May ) but a the time i did not have this video i made while staying there, available to post with the review. So here it is...just to show people how shocking this place is. The video does not even do the place justice, but it should give anyone a very good idea of the place. Do NOT stay here, unless you enjoy living like a backpacker, but paying 3/4 star prices!!!

So it's not the best kept hotel, it could do with a bit of a renovation, but with this location, if it was updated can you imagine how expensive it would cost?!! Please.

The location is amazing, the beds are comfortable and the staff are lovely.

Yes the breakfast, decor and the noise from the street are irritants, however buy your own breakfast (or pick out the bits you like and stock up), the decor disappears when you close your eyes (and I am assuming you've come to see the city not the inside of a hotel...) and buy some ear plugs.

Definitely worth it.
