This hotel is located in an excellent location (its the equivalent of old Bond Street in London) with all the upmarket clothes and shoe shops.
The hotel receptionist (who never seemed to take a break in the 2 nights we stayed) was very good recommending places to eat and helping with train times ect (its the only thing which upgraded this review from 1 to 2 stars).
The big problem with this hotel is how basic the rooms are. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. I stay in 4 and 5 star hotels every week, and this just isn’t one!
Our room was very basic and small. It had a bed, small tv (and stand) and a wooden wardrobe. There were 2 wooden chairs but there was no room to usefully sit on them.
The bathroom was really really small. The shower was crammed in the end of the bathroom and there was only about a 20cm gap between the toilet and wall to get through get to the shower. When i did get in the shower I shouldn’t have bothered. To say it was a dribble would be to dramatically overstate its power.
It was a really big letdown. I did manage to look in some other rooms (walking past as they were being cleaned) and some did look bigger, so maybe we were just unlucky but really, if you are a 4 star hotel and you have a room that isn’t up to 4 star quality then you shouldn’t use it, as it lets down the whole hotel.
