Stayed recently for 4 nights and was very pleased with the accommodations and especially the location. The only drawbacks were finding the entrance and the tiny elevator to the 4th floor which is where the hotel reception is. We walked from the train station and passed right by the entrance as it's marked only with a small sign. The lift holds 2 people and maybe one suitcase.
The rooms were good size (for Europe), meticulously clean and very charming. The bed was nice and firm and bedding fresh and adequate. We did ask for extra pillow and they were delivered very promptly. The linens in the bathroom were in excellent condition and of good size. The shower door was a bit tricky but we managed. Our room faced the courtyard and there was some noise emanating from some kind of equipment but not disruptive in any way.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding with fresh fruits, whole grained cereals, juices, breads, pastries, fresh cheeses and meats, and or course coffee. The coffee machine was fascinating and would dispense delicious coffee in whatever type desired from "Cafe Americano" to Cappuccino and Espresso. The room was very elegant with linens table cloths, cloth napkins & fine table settings. Severer of the tables were by windows overlooking the Piazza. We didn't take advantage of it but there was very lovely and nicely furnished lounge or living room in the front of the hotel for guests use.
The hotel is located on the Piazza del Repubblica and is an easy walk to everything including the train station. We loved Florence and would love to return someday. Without question we'll stay at the Pendini Hotel
Ask for a room overlooking the street.
