I enjoyed staying at the Monna Lisa. The hotel is filled with art and the garden is beautiful and allows you to escape from being in the city of Florence. The staff was very helpful and caring, but that might only be if you speak italian. The rooms weren't amazing but they were fine and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, clean and while the shower leaked a bit, I have no complaints about the quality of the rooms. I would recommend this hotel to others but warn them that the rooms aren't up to the level of the public spaces but you won't be spending much time in your room.

So, Florence, the city with history and epic charm - you need a hotel according to this atmosphere. I have stayed in this hotel twice during my visits to Florence and highly recommend it. Sure, some of the rooms are small and some of them need renovation but forgetting these you get a perfect location (quiet) and an amazing breakfast. The atmosphere is very friendly and since the hotel is small the visitors often talko to each other during the morning buffee (which is good, too).

They spent all the money on the public areas and not the rooms. Room #4 should be avoided at all cost and if not, move to a different hotel.
The staff was ok but somewhat indifferent.
I would find a different hotel if I went to FLorence again.

We stayed at the hotel in mid October. It was okay. The room was okay. The blankets were rather old but the bed was comfortable. It was okay. The bathroom was renovated nicely, however, there was mold in the shower. It was okay. The public spaces in the hotel are lovely. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar. The bartender was very amusing. The breakfast was fine. I was hoping for a wow and it was okay.
