“Lovely, friendly, fresh.”

We chanced upon this restaurant and saw it had a good rating from trip advisor displayed on the door, so gave it a try. Very glad we did. It appears to be run almost entirely by women, which we have found unusual in Italy, and they are lovely, friendly people with good English, who also respected my daughter's fluency in italian, and gave her an Italian menu instead of an English one. Bonus points! It was busy, but service was prompt and the food was simply beautiful. I particularly enjoyed my gnudi, spinach and ricotta dumplings, which were light, fluffy and richly flavoured. My husband had the beef with black pepper stew, and the girls had pasta, all of which was fresh and delicious. We will go back there for sure.

“Wonderful food, friendly family atmosphere, great place for gluten-free food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

This was one of our two best dining experiences during our two-week trip to Italy. For anyone on a gluten-free diet, this is a great place. And if you are not gluten-free, you will enjoy it just as much (as my non-gluten-free husband did). The food is excellent and prepared perfectly. Almost the entire menu can be prepared gluten-free, and they have great gluten-free cakes for desert. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although some of the staff do not speak English, our waitress did. The service was excellent. This is the kind of family restaurant where the chef brings the main dish out to you. It's a warm neighborhood restaurant . While we were there, other diners came in who where clearly regulars -- to the point where they had their own bottles of wine behind the serving area. And we were treated with the same warmth and care as the regulars.

“Home from home...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

A family run relaxed establishment far enough away from the main throughfare providing good value for money in an expensive city. Menu was traditional, well cooked & served with the minimum of fuss. Particularly recommend the Aubergine Parmeggiano - delish!

“Best dinner in Florence!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Florence for four nights and this place was our favorite! Child-friendly, good portion sizes, delicious meals, fairly priced! Pear and cheese filled pasta was the best meal my wife had in two-week Italian vacation....
