“Charming, great, unforgetable place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2010

I have been in Villa di Piazzano for my honeymoon for two nights.
We regret not to be more time, because it was a great experience! The best? It's a charming hotel, with life; situated in a great place, with beautiful landscapes; and the service, the food is just unforgettable.
We have dinner twice in the villa, because it has a fantastic food and service. The best desert I have ever eaten, it was the tiramisu.
We went to Cortona by bike and it was great (a small town with character, typical Tuscany). A little bit hard (not for everyone), but it deserves the work to go up the hill. After, it's a wonderful way down.
We also loved the street with trees all along that goes to the villa.
We hope to get there again! To visit more things around, or maybe only to stay more time.

“feel like lord of the manor”

Located outside the walled city of Cortona in the Tuscan countryside is Villa di Piazzano.
From the cypress lined driveway to the impressive entry gate this hotel is the place to stay if you are looking to be treated like lord of the manor. Built in the late 1500's and restored magnificantly by the owners this villa lacks nothing. Our upgraded suite overlooked acres of fields making us feel like we belonged. The room was very comfortable and large. The beautiful gards and large swimming pool are a restful respite from the fatigue of touring. There are several quiet sitting areas plus a bar. The restaurant is cozy with an inventive tuscan chef. The Italian morning breakfast is substantial - even bacon and eggs - made better by dining on the adjoining terrace outside. The walled city of Cortona is just minutes away. Montepulchiano and Pienza are also short drives away. The owners are available to discuss everything from local wines to the less visited sites in the area and the restoration of the property.

Dear Guests,

We have just closed for the season and so I wandered on TripAdvisor to be pleasantly surprised by your comment. Thank you for your nice words which only positively reinforce our efforts at the end of what has been a challenging year. But I particularly wanted to thank you for stressing the fact that we are just minutes away from Cortona. We are constantly identified as being somewhere else which has only resulted in getting many people lost and this has indeed been our greatest challenge over the last 10 years. So with your comment you have inadvertently helped many future guests, which I think is what Trip Advisor is all about!

Wishing you all the best.

“Best place to stay in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2009

We stayed in 4 places this trip including a 5 star in Florence. This is by far the nicest place we stayed. The rooms are larger and nicer. The location is wonderful. Driving distance to wonderful cities in Tuscany and Umbria. The staff is helpful and know how to get you where you want to go. The chef is one of the best.
If you want to do Tuscany, stay here.

“Amazing Honeymoon Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2009

The Villa di Piazzano was perfect for our honeymoon stay. The Villa itself is beautiful and our room had tons of character and a fabulous view of the countryside. It looked like it was right out of the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun.” We had two of the best meals of our entire honeymoon in Italy and Greece at the hotel (the breakfasts are great too!). We can’t wait to return. Allesandra and her family were fabulous hosts. We got a tour of the property and every inch of it from the wine cellar to the pool is breathtaking. We would recommend it to anyone!

“Dream wedding of our daughter made very unique and special by the Villa Piazzano”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2009

After looking in Tuscany for the perfect villa to have our daughter's wedding we choose Villa di Piazzano easily because it is so beautiful, small, intimate, friendly, and comfortable. Our hopes for the experience of a life time were realized. All our guests were very happy with everything from the comfort of their rooms, the setting of great beauty in the country side of eastern Tuscany, the fabulous food served outside under the sun or stars, the huge pool overlooking sunflower fields and olive trees, the gracious always ready staff, and the delicious wines of the area. Most importantly the tone is set by the owner of the hotel who she or her staff are always ready to be helpful and friendly. We were simply blown away by this gem that is hidden near the Umbrian border. It is also very reasonably priced. I give it the highest recommendation possible.
