Stayed at this lovely hotel, located in the heart of Ortigia. This historical building makes you feel like you were living in the renaissance period.
Rooms were very comfortable and spacious, breakfast was also good, typical Sicilian blended with a American Breakfast, all the food was fresh and tastey. Coffee was probably the best I had in Siracusa.
The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, they spoke many languages so communication was not a problem.
We will go back to Syracusa this summer and stay at this hotel again!

The Giaraca palazzo is beautifully located, we picked a room with a view over the Siracusa bay with a balcony. The lady handing us the key was unfriendly, untidy and unfit for such a beautiful location. The room in itself was spacious, the bed looked ok. Already the firdt night we found out that the bed was almost as old as the hotel. Herewith I mean the materass, not the bed itself which was a squaky iron one with worn down spirals under it.
The floor and bathroom were really dirty, even though the cleaning lady come in daily to clean.
The hotel does not have a breakfast facility. A much better choice would be any of the neighboring hotels. The Grand Ortigia for example was wonderful, for the same price, but including breakfast!

With the new management also the matresses have been changed and, if necessary, the beds.

Friendly , home like atmosphere in the beautiful palace. We had a great time and Maria Louisa was very helpful with everything.
Location is great, near all the main attractions in Siracusa. Would love to come back there again!
