This lovely country hotel is located in a flat area of the countryside near Siracusa, Italy. The flat terrain, bright sunlight, lush vegetation with tall palm trees, are reminiscent of California desert resorts ambiance, a la Palm Springs. The lodge building is a delicious blend of modern motel standards and ancient Sicilian homesteads. Room decor is cozy, fixtures are carefully engineered (for example doors and windows have clever panels with a bugscreen to let in the air but not the insects), furniture is old-fashion rural style. The premises are spacious, with plenty of parking space, crop fields to gaze at or to stroll about, colorful flowers to please your eye and singing birds to amuse your ears. You can just sit in front of your room on an elevated porch and take fresh air in, full of blossom scents, while protected from the sun by a gracious woody veranda. Breakfast is varied and tasty with fresh fruit and homemade jams along with the usual fare. The host, Cristina, and her collaborator Sangey (spelling?) welcome you with warmth and go the extra mile to make sure you are well. Cristina is not only a passionate farmer but also a competent hotel master and travel advisor. I overheard her give advise and directions to tourists about nearby places I know very well, and I found them correct and accurate. I definitely recommend staying in this place.
