This is a simple hotel right in the heart of Palermo. It is a fantastic location and a reasonable price. The rooms aren't particularly flash but do the job for a short stay in the city. It is pretty noisey though as the street outside is incredibly busy at all times of the day and night so take some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast is provided but at a cafe across the road which isn't ideal but better than nothing and at least you get a proper coffee!

This hotel was perfect for our needs - a short break to see the sights of Palermo. Convenient location, close to the station and to places of interest. The staff were polite and very helpful. Breakfast (croissant and coffee) was in a bar outside the hotel - ok but not ideal. I was thankful to have packed earplugs. The sound from the cars and trucks on Via Maqueda would have been a problem without them. Some rooms are on the other side - I'm sure these would have been much quieter.
I enjoyed staying at the Hotel Alessandra. It was in a convenient location in the historical area. The decorating was nice. Our room was quiet and large.
My husband and I were able to check in at 7am for no extra charge. One member of the staff spoke English fluently. The entire staff was very helpful. They gave us free maps and very detailed directions.
One caution: The hotel is on the third(?) floor, and there is no elevator.
