Wonderful find. Lovely gardens, food qiute good, overlooked by tall flats. Safe to walk around and easy bus ride to centre. Staff very helpful. Price fantastic. 47 Euro for 2 b&b!!

We had a great time at this hotel, and have to highlight the exceptional service provided by Yvonne and Francesca at the front desk. Their English was excellent, and they even found me some insect bite cream! They were very friendly and warm, making our stay a pleasure.

The hotel itself is akin to a Travelodge in England: basic but clean rooms, clean bathrooms with 700W hairdryer, TV. There are no English channels – only MTV Italia, where some shows are in English. There was no computer on which to check internet at the hotel. Breakfast is typical Italian fare (bread, meat, cheese) and a bonus for the non-Italians: fresh fruit.

The hotel location is just outside (think 30 min walk) of Palermo city centre, and 35-40 EUR from Palermo airport. This is infinitely preferable to Palermo city centre, which is a dump – unsafe, bad food, dirty. The hotel is next to the cute Piazza Niscemi, which has 3 great restaurants and a pub. You can walk to the beach (Mondelo) in 30 mins. All in all, a great place to pass a few days in Palermo.

After a whirlwind week in Sicily this was our final stop before flying home the next morning so we chose it on the basis of proximity to airport. It was a 25 minute drive (which was good) ... lengthened by the fact that we had to return the hire car with a full tank of petrol and could not find a petrol station at the airport so had to back track to the town of Cisini.

The hotel was not the easiest to find (even with GPS) and we managed to drive past the car park (on a one way street) before realising that it was the hotel's car park. Once at reception though things improved. One of the groundsmen came to show us to our room and helped move our car back to the car park (by simply stopping traffic in the one lane street until we were in the car park). The hotel grounds and gardens looked lovely and well maintained.

Our room was slightly disappointing though. Small, with two rather unstable / soft twin beds. Furnishings looked old and tired. Tiniest television I have seen in a long time. Tiny bathroom with even tinier shower. We weren't there for the luxury though, more for the location, so it was adequate. Certainly quiet enough for us to get a good sleep.

The dinner recommendation by the receptionist was good - a trattoria/pizza place about a 15minute walk away. Nice final Sicilian meal. Breakfast in the hotel was the worst we'd had in Sicily. Probably ordinary in reality but given the wonderful experiences we had had elsewhere, it was disappointing.

We arrived in Palermo on a rainy wet morning and upon driving to the hotel were not impressed. The hotel seemed to be nestled amongst grotty flats and hidden down a bumpy lame. The arrival weather did not help the situation. Our group decided that upon seeing the surrounding area and reception area that we didnt want to stay, however were told our our rooms were non-refundable. Which is fair enough. Having resigned to the fact that we would have to stay rather than fork out for another hotel we decided to drive around west Sicily to lift our moods and return later that evening.

Upon arriving back early evening we were given our room keys and our thoughts about the hotel rapidly changed. Rooms were spacious (all were suites with bedroom area and living area) and decorated simply but honestly. The beds in each of our 3 bedrooms were large four poster beds with pretty nets draped over.

Deciding to opt for dinner in the hotel restaurant (too scared to venture into the local town) we were shown to a private space (due to there being 6 of us). All agreed that our evening here was one of the best of the trip (we were doing a road trip so one night in a different location in Italy). The restaurant is pretty and sophisticatedly decorated. Food is delicious and obviously very fresh. Alcohol is very resasonably priced also (only €40 for a whole bottle of Absolute vodka).

After first impressions our minds were changed but mainly due to the inside of the rooms, restaurant and house/gardens where the restaurant is housed. For €80 per night we couldnt have expected much more.
