Considering how great this hotel is, it's surprising that it doesn't have more reviews. I only came across it as an overflow hotel for Ivespri (run by the same people). The location absolutely cannot be beaten - within a two block radius is the old historic part of town, all of the best restaurants and bars, and the upmarket shopping strip is directly outside. It is also situated withing one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in the city.
The staff bent over backwards to help me - they let me use their computer at reception, put my lunch in their fridge, made calls to find out about transport, got bug spray for mozzies for me, and gave suggestions for the best restaurants and activities. They all had a good sense of humour and were very friendly (I had several long conversations with them late at night). My single room was simple and if being really picky, a little scruffy around the edges. However I had everything I needed to be comfortable, it only cost me 35 euro a night, and with the staff and location I was really happy here. The double rooms looked spacious and beautiful, and I plan to return with my husband and stay in one of these.
A couple of nights I was woken up at 9pm (I was jet lagged) by someone starting a vespa in the courtyard below - but how Italian! Otherwise there were heavy shutters on the windows which blocked out any street noise.
Facilities/services = lift, free wi fi, two security doors, reception staffed until at least 11pm, staff who speak basic English up to fully fluent, airconditioning/heating, balconys (my had a clothes line - very helpful), tour booking at reception, a basic Italian breakfast in your room (juice, tea or coffee, a sweet tart thing and fruit or yoghart), bottled water for sale, no credit card facilities at this time
