“loverly hotel in the middle of nowhere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2009

loverly hotel in an idilic setting just a stone throw from the beach, if sitting by the beach doing nothing all day is your idea of an holiday then you cant beat this hotel, if not ,you really need to hire a car there is absolutely nothing for miles.also we stayed half board and got a basic set menu, not a lot of choice, however guests paying for dinner seperatly had a completly diffrent menu with a lot more choice, very unfair i thought. , staff also speak little english, which was a bit frustrating all in all i dont think i would return to this hotel.

“Not a four star”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2008

Jsut back from a 2-week HB stay at this hotel.
Location: hire a car at the airport, its easy to find and the taxi costs 30E. you will need this car to get about as there is nothing around accept a supermarket.
Good points:Good for access to Costa Smeralda, very close to a lovely beach.
Bad points:
1.breakfast is very limited in choice, ham and cheese, bread rolls, croisants, tinned fruit. No variation. Filter coffee. If you want capuccino its 2.5E. If you want aboiled egg its 2.5E,omelette 4E. Nothing hot is provided, not even toast. They say its typically italian. We say theyre scrimping and saving money.
2. Breakast room is small and access to food is very restricted approx.I table 6x4. If the hotel was full it would be very frustrating.
3. Swimming pool is tiny as is the seating area around it. There are sunbeds in the gardens.
4. Rooms are basic and tired - in need of a complete refurbishment. In our room the furniture was chipped and stained and the silicone around the bath was balck and mouldy. TV was a 12" portable.
5. they leave you instructions not ot use the minibar for your own drinks.
6. Aircon was not switched on.
7. They advertise airport transfer but it is charged at 25E.( 3E less than a normal taxi)
8. if your flight is evening you must check out at 12, there are no options to keep the room on or have a shower
9. No evening entertainment and impossible to have any as the bar/reception is all one and too small.

There is a good restaurant, choice for HB is however limited, staff in restaurant are very nice.
small gym, which is good, but no showers or cold water.
Objection is basically that they are not a four star hotel because of the lack of range and quality of services they offer. Would go back to the area but definitely not this hotel.
Unable to recomment. Alternative option that might be better is the Gambiano at Golfo Aranci.

  • Liked — Proximity to the beach
  • Disliked — The penny pinching for charging for services that should be included within a 4star hotel

“Very pleasant stay at Stefania”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2007

Me and my husband had a very pleasant stay for 4 days. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, comfortable and decoarted with Indian paintings to our pleasant surprise (we are from India)! We had a very good sea view from the balcony. The beach was very near and clean.

The only little problem was vegetarian food for my husband. He had to contend with less or no variety at dinner.

Otherwise memorable stay and we will definitely recommend this hotel to others.

  • Liked — Friendly staff and quite atmosphere
  • Disliked — Food variety, specially vegetarian

“Nice but very quiet and in middle of no where”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2006

My partner and i stayed at this hotel however it was not what was expected as it was in the middle of nowhere and the pictures on their own official website (---) and expedia were not true. The pictures show that the area is surrounded in some greenery before hitting the beach - however there is no such greenary except a few trees - it is all covered in what appears to be wasteland. Perhaps the area is up and coming.

Their offifical site states that "The Hotel has a tennis-court and a swimming-pool looking on to Tavolara Island and the Olbia Gulf" - however there is no such tennis court on the premises.

We stayed at this hotel on halfboard basis and the food was nice, however sometimes a little strange. There was not an option to order additional food of any type outside of lunch or dinner times and there is not much nearby except a little pizzaria that doesnt serve in between those times either.

Porto Cervo is an popular tourist area nearby (30 min) however is very expensive to get to in a taxi at 45 euros with a transfer from the hotel and about 90 euro's in a local taxi for the return. Porto Rotundo was more reasnable being 15 minutes away.

Had a room with a very liitle baclony that overlooked the sea, was a nice view if you blocked the wasteland out. Room was a little small but was clean and as with most hotels was rather dark in lighting.

Nearest local restaurant that seemed decent was Mama Beach. The resort/area might have been better if it was busier. Our hotel only had 4 out of 28 rooms booked when we arrived. The temperature was around mid 20's.
