Small out of the way bed and breakfast, about a twenty minute walk from the centre of Verona. Our third floor room was small - not a place to spend a lot of time - but great for spending our days roaming Verona. We shared two full baths (showers, not bathtubs) with two other rooms. They were well looked after and very clean. The breakfast was good- meat, cheese, cereal, bread, toast, jam, coffee à volonté. The atmosphere was convivial, but quiet.

We stayed at the B&B La Magnolia for 1 night to attend the opera. As it was opera season and a Saturday the prices in Verona were fairly inflated but this turned out to be a very good choice.

The B&B is located close to the railway station and is about a 15min walk to the arena.
When we booked the room the staff got in touch to see what time we expected to arrive as there is no 24h reception. As a result when we arrived we gained access straight away however there was a couple before us who had needed to call to get in.

Check in was fine and we were given a map of the local area. Our room however was not in the main building but in a house further down the road. The house had been renovated to an okay standard and security was fine with a lockable front gate and door.
Our room was in the attic and was well furnished and very clean, however there was very limited head room and the windows were at floor level so lighting was fairly poor.

Breakfast was open access in a kitchen area on the 1st floor we all your standard continental breakfast items and tea/coffee making facilities.

La Magnolia was very clean with excellent security; Roberto (Owner / Manager) was extremely helpful and welcoming recommending a couple of outstanding restaurants in Verona. The centre of Verona is only a short 15 minute stroll away and the train station only 5 minutes away.

During our stay there were a couple of issues with the Air Conditioning but they took steps to sort this once we advised them of the issue. The only negative point is the proximity to the main railway line which may disturb light sleepers but otherwise highly recommended.

What a find. Even though it's on the train tracks, you would never notice. The rooms are absolutely fantastic and at a great price. Their pictures don't do the rooms or the B&B justice - it is so much nicer than what the pictures appear. And all within walking distance of downtown. No trouble parking out front and never having to move the car for two days. Having air conditioning sure helped as August was hot. It's on my recommend list for sure.
